New guy here and new to the Kahr experience as well. I purchased my CM9 about 3 weeks ago used at a local gun shop. It was $300 out the door with 2 mags and one base plate extension. I had been eyeing the CM9 ever since I came across one. I wanted something I could carry in to Uptown Charlotte when my wife and I would go for events that would be easily concealable in a jacket or pants pocket. My current carry is a Glock 23 and I just needed something that was thinner and easier to carry. I almost purchased a CW380 instead but am very happy that I went for the CM9.

Just this past Saturday I was able to take it to a range (free day pass) and put the required break in rounds through it. I know the gun was used but had no idea of the history and thought the best thing to do would be to start over with it as if it was new. I put a total of 210 rounds through it both FMJ and JHP. It shot the Defender Ammo, Winchester, and Remington flawlessly with no malfunctions at all. To say the least I was very impressed with my new purchase.

Now on to my actual problem...

I'm looking for a Kydex holster that is IWB and tuckable. Both Cook's Holsters and Vedder Holsters have an option. PJ Holsters originally started this search but I like the idea of having the clip be detachable for replacement if necessary. I also prefer to be able to adjust the cant of the holster. I use a Garrett Industries Fusion for my G23 and looked at the Silent Thunder option for my CM9. While I have been very impressed with the Fusion and with Garrett Industries in general I just can't justify $90+ for a holster that is supposed to be a Christmas gift from my in-laws. I've also considered making my own as I'm no stranger to projects but time just does not permit right now. I've narrowed it down to Cook's and Vedder. I've searched for every review I can find on Kahr Talk and have watched several reviews of the holsters on YouTube. I just can't make a decision. Any idea or actual product knowledge would be great.

Cook's Holsters

Cook's is everything I seem to be looking for in a holster. They have more color options at a better price than Vedder. If I decide to go with the standard black and do not like the holster they will replace it for me. I can change the clip for an Ulticlip if I desire. The only thing I'm unsure of is how much width the clip design will add to the holster. I understand this is the part that makes it tuckable but in all honesty I need the ability to tuck a shirt in with it but this is not my normal carry style. Also, this holster is about $12 cheaper using the promo code "Jarhead 6". $49.19 shipped to my door (2 week build time).

Vedder Holsters

The two things that are really making me consider the Vedder Holster over the Cook's is the adjustable ride height and the clip. The clip appears to be wider and the two screws that hold the clip and the cant adjustment to me just seems to be a sturdier option. I also really like the ability to adjust things as my wants/needs change over time. This is where the adjustable ride height would be nice. $61.98 shipped to my door (3 day build time).

IMO, the Cooks clip will rotate, that could make for an unstable rig. The Vedder is adjustable and has a wider more stable 2 screw clip. I'd go for the vedder. Look at it this way- you just invested $300 in a tool that could save your life or property. Don't skimp on the holster, buy the one that works best for you. It's better to buy a good holster that works than one that doesn't followed by one that does. I just spent $91 for an owb custom kydex for my pm45. It's my first kydex holster and it is phenomenal.

I have a Garrett's Silent Thunder (PM9) and the same issue I see with the Vedder product is the clip mounted the way it is, seems to add a lot of bulk to the holster at its lowest point unless you really carry deep.. My PJ's is much less obtrusive so it gets used a lot more. That said, I will now look at the Cooks product for some variety. Thanks for the idea.

From looking at the pictures, I'd go with the Vedder standard height. I like the fact that it looks like you can get a full purchase on the grip before you draw the gun and should you decide to carry AIWB it shouldn't interfere with sitting. Body type is a consideration, too, but if you are a svelte good looking guy like me the standard height should be perfect. If you look anything like Bawanna, or Jocko you should consider liposuction, or plastic surgery. :)

Cook's OWB..............it does move on your belt..................I love it............can move it to appendix for riding in the car, move it back to 3:00-4:00 for standing. He can make the height what ever you want it to be. You just need to send him a pic, and he will make the ride height what ever you want, IWB or OWB. For my MK, High Noon Centerfold tuckable. Sits at the perfect height for me, you can tuck your shirt over the top, and I have used it many many times, and no one notices, even when I tell them it's there.

Thanks to you guys for the replies. I'm still deciding but it's really nice to hear other peoples opinions. As of right now I'm leaning towards the Vedder. I had my mind made up on the Cooks and while browsing through video reviews on Youtube saw the Vedder. I wish I could find some pictures of the CM9 in either of these holsters. If I were choosing standard IWB I may choose the Cooks as I really like the look of their clips. The reason I'm staying away from PJ's right now is that I just need something adjustable. I tried my CM9 today in a holster that I had for another gun I own that fit it okay. This holster has a static clip and cant and it drove me crazy all day. I'm scared I may choose the wrong cant for a PJ holster and regret it; otherwise all the positive reviews are what led me there in the first place.

Keep the opinions coming, or if you have another manufacturer please feel free to share. For some reason the Foxx holsters Little Foxx and Trapp made it off my short list. If anyone has any experience with them please share. Thanks for being so welcoming to the new guy.

I decided to try out the Vedder Light Tuck. They had a 30 day money back guarantee so I figured why not. It was about $62 shipped to my door. I ordered it last Saturday and it showed up in my mailbox this Saturday so their claim of 3 business days was spot on. I've worn it most of the day while working in the yard and garage and while there were a few times I had to maneuver the holster back in to place most of the time it stayed put. I believe the movement was more due to the belt I was wearing and not the holster or clip. Speaking of the clip it is metal, which I like, and fairly stiff. I actually dropped the holster while trying to get it back in my waste band because I was trying to get the clip to spread enough to go over the belt. When it arrived there was almost no tension set on the holster but after a couple of turns of the phillips head it was perfect. I decided to try the tuck in feature tonight as we went out for dinner and was surprised how easy it was to get the shirt in there so that is a plus. I will say that with my frame (5'9", 220 lbs.) I don't know that tucking a shirt in with a CM9 is a great way to conceal as I could definitely tell something was going on around the 4 o'clock position. Luckily what I wanted this for was going in to Uptown Charlotte when my wife and I go out for a expensive date and usually I am wearing a jacket on this occasion. So far I'm super happy with the holster and it seems to be a quality piece. Time will tell.

On to the pics...
