MK9 magazines

Have an older MK9 that has 2 OEM Kahr 6rd magazines. Both function perfect. Both have a stainless sheet metal follower. Recently purchased a new OEM Kahr 7 rd magazine but it has a plastic follower. Have not tried shooting it yet but it takes a lot more effort to seat. Looking at both side by side the plastic folloer sticks up more in the front than the ss follower. Is this normal and is this the issue why the magazine takes more effort?

I have never seen one of the old ones with the metal follower. Very cool. On a new magazine, the spring is usually more stiff than on an older magazine. My guess is you are experiencing the difference between newer and older magazine springs. The springs become weaker over time. And, brand new ones have not taken their initial set yet.
