View Full Version : No More Guns...v2016
In what's become something close to annual tradition.....
I have more guns than I need and all or more than I want. To the point where I've started giving them away, to family in need. So, with only a couple minor caveats, I once again pledge to no more new guns this year,
However, while perusing the latest American Rifleman I decided what I did want/need was one or two legal cans. At least for my .22s. So off I go to set up a trust, buy, and get tax stamps.

Im with you. I needed no more in 2015 so I only ended up with 5 minor additions. For 2016 I now need no more (again.)
I will admit I'm taking request from my kids on what they want.

I swore to give all of my guns away in 2016 and if they hadn't been lost in a tragic canoeing accident on New Years eve, I would have, too.

I bought NO MORE than five or six in 2015. It is mostly the fault of you here.
2016 = NO MORE

OMG, I thought this site was for gun control. Doesn't KAHR-talk mean KeepAllHandgunsRegistered?

It's baby steps for me. I'm gonna try to limit my firearms purchases to 5 max. Well maybe 8 if I find really good deals.
Then I should have a nice even dozen total after the quake and all, I only salvaged a few. Keltecs and Bersa's, almost like running round nekkid.

Obama's speech is over, a lot of words, nothing at all that will actually help. It will make it just a little harder for legal buyers, does nothing to prevent or hinder the criminal or gangbanger from obtaining firearms.

He wouldn't do anything to make it hard for his friends and constituents and proud supporters.
I don't see any change in my area, there is no gun show loop hole and with I 594 or whatever the abortion was called all transfers now have to be through an FFL.
Waiting for it to be done away with, but that's sometimes hard to get done.
Another law that's nearly impossible to enforce and a law that can't be enforced is merely a suggestion and I'm ok with that.

I don't know about ya'll but I was moved with his speech:

Hopefully the Imodium will kick in pretty soon

No more new guns for me, until I have sufficient ammo for the ones I already have.

I actually sold one.....................my namesake, and it hurt, but they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. I'll miss it, but it's time to start pairing down.
I only bought two last year. Mebbe three but I think one was purchased late Nov 2014. All were within the bounds of my published caveats list so I been doin' real gud. Also divested myself of five...to the aforementioned family in need as emergency essentials after bil/cousin and sister's house burned down and took their gun collection and ammunition supply with it.
I'd still like to have a good 9mm carbine but beyond that and anything useful breakthrough new I'm done.

My therapist said it was unhealthy to try and kid myself. I'll never be done long as I'm drawing air into my lungs.
As they are nailing the lid down I'll probably be haggling on a new gun, quick toss it in, time is short.
No shame in clinging to our guns, our bibles if you ask me. And if they are too big once in awhile, hey nobody is perfect ya know.
Yeah, that's whut I thought back when I was your age. But I'm at peace with it now. And deathclock.com has long had my expiration date pegged at Feb 2017.

I gave a shotgun to my nephew over the holidays. It felt good.

My deathclock.com date of death was August 9 2010 so I'm on borrowed time....:faint2:
I said last year that I had enough guns and would buy no more in 2015 then I found a sweet S&W 686 that had to come home with me and later in the year I found a good deal on a Sig 290rs that I couldn't pass up and so it goes, it's a sickness.....

I decided to focus on one manual of arms and hone my skills with it. One EDC, one full size.
Not that I'll sell any off, I'll just put them in deep storage.
As for buying new ones, who are we kidding?!?!

Maybe this will be bawanna's year for a 686. Had a strong hankering for one for quite a spell. Maybe it isn't actually a 2016 purchase since it's been on my list so long?

Well, crap! You tellin' me deathclock's no more reliable than an RG22? Now that just plain sucks!

Yeah, Bawanna does need to get that 686 this year. I have to decide what "test" and measurement guns I need in 2016...

As soon as I jump on the "No New Guns for 2016" bandwagon?
I'll come across something I don't need.
But must have.
It's almost a jinx to even post about it - LOL! :p

Well I lasted two whole days!!!
last night, with Obummer's town hall fiasco, I felt suddenly compelled to order a second Makarov PM - LOL!
So now I'll have a matching pair!
That is all...

No more here either....cept his cousin just followed him home! 300 Blackout on top, 223 on bottom.
If no New guns it is, then I will shop the Used gun section pretty often. Some good deals are out there at my local dealer.

I've not bought a new gun in about 5 years [my PM9 was the last gun I bought and is what brought me to this site.] but would like to buy two this year. A .22 lever action with which to compete in club silhouette matches and possibly a 1911 in 9mm.

Those were on the caveats list of my last no new guns thingy. Got both last year. Kinda over cooked on the 9mm 1911 part...got two of them. Only one caveat left from then, a quality 9mm carbine.

I've had an epic fail at no more guns for 2016...
Think I may have picked up three already?
Every-time I see Obummer or Hillary-holes face?
I seem to uncontrollably buy more guns and ammo.

Stumbled upon this thread a little too late.
The "good deal bug" bit me twice already this year, and in my weakened state I picked up a Glock 30 and a Russian Makarov.
I didn't need either, and wasn't particularly looking for them, but they're mine now.

I've got two un-issued Bulgy Maks with a third on the way - LOL!
Love those Makarovs.
Even the Circle 10 bayonets are cool!
I've got it bad...
