I have a question on magazines . I put a metal bottom from a mk 9 on my k9 mag . I shot a two mags through it and it worked . bad idea ?
Just last week I was goin thru some crap in a box and ended up putting bell bottons on. THAT was a bad idea

That works just fine on Kahr magazines. Makes no difference. Bell bottoms are a bad idea.

I wore bell bottoms for six years as a member of Uncle Sam's Canoe Club. It wasn't all that bad.

Yup, no issue at all swapping the mag base. Should be fine.

One lastI question my friends , should I use the metal or the plastic to clip the bottoms ?
And yes i wore bell bottoms and also drank Boones farm wine ;-)

If you are using the metal base, the metal retainer works best. Use the plastic retainer with plastic bases. I suppose the plastic one would work on the metal base, but it would protrude through the hole a bit.

Nice thing about Boones Farm, it tasted about the same going down or coming up. ;)

The plastic base plate retainer takes up more space in the magazine where there is precious little to spare. If you had swapped the base plates and retainers the other way around you may have had difficulty inserting a full magazine in the mk9 with the slide in battery. I bought an aftermarket plastic base plate/retainer for my pm9 and couldn't get the full magazine to latch as would happen if you topped off the magazine after charging the pistol.
