Got my hands on the striker fired Walther PPQ for the first time today. Wow what a nice trigger! All those positive internet reviews were not exaggerated about the trigger and it fit my hand perfectly with the smaller backstrap. Relatively short smooth take up, short distinctive click, and very short reset. The PPQ is not a small or subcompact pistol. In fact, it seems too large for concealed carry for me, although some may want to do it. However, after shooting my Kahrs cw9 and cm9 for the last couple years the PPQ almost felt too soft although the trigger is listed at 5.5# pull. My concern is that it might not be safe for CCW. I can envision an accidental discharge on my part or unintentional double taps. I love the gun, the fit, the trigger, etc., but maybe best as a house gun for me. I would probably have to put my Kahrs away and practice practice practice with the PPQ. Just wondering how others feel about this. Do you carry the PPQ or something with a similar trigger? I'm guessing it's just anxiety due to my inexperience with such a trigger.........no matter how much I love it. I also want to try the HK vp9 and take another look at the Sig P320 (again). And the FNS 9c is still on my list of possibilities. Too bad I can't find all of them for rent at the same gun range. :hurt:

That is what many people have reported about the trigger. I had unintentional double taps with the PPQ as I normally shoot from reset. It was so short, so quick and so unexpected that I decided I didn't care for it. No room for error at all. Many people like the quick Walther triggers. In fact I did like the QA trigger on a P99c, but it was much, much more controllable. IMHO, there is short and there is too short. There is light and there is too light. Combine the two and the result is nigh onto dangerous.

I'd try the VP9. HK triggers have always suited me and the VP9 is a better pistol than the PPQ in IMO.

It all about getting use to the trigger. I've never shot a PPQ, but all of the triggers on my high power rifles break at 2.5 pounds. You'll like the trigger on the FNS. PPQ stands for Police Pistol Quick. A lot of foreign police departments carry the gun.

I like the PPQ trigger and have shot an M2 version quite a bit. It does seem big for carry although they just announced a PPS M2. On the PPS they supposedly made the trigger on the M2 more like the trigger on the PPQ. My shooting buddy had a couple of unintended double shots with it, but is used to it now. He also had an unintended double shot at the range with a Ruger MK target with a very light worked over trigger. Neither happened again as he got used to the triggers.

I still carry my Kahrs though.

At least there are choices out there.

Haven't fired a PPQ, but did have a P99, and the trigger was ok if you like that kind of trigger. Just couldn't cozy up to it, and sold it. I carry a H&K P2000SK, and that doesn't seem to large for me..........it's about the same size as the PPQ. I always carry it OWB though. I've also been sneeking peaks at the P320.............................................. ....

While hammer fired the Sig P250 has a trigger much like a Kahr pistol, but with a second strike capability. You might want to check it out.

A year or so ago I am pretty sure I watched a YouTube video showing the simple removal of a tab in the PPQ slide that would enable the shooter to have the option of selectively shooting it full auto. The only videos I can find now are for Airsoft conversions so I suspect it has been pulled.

I haven't had a chance to check them out side by side yet.........................I've got a feeling that I may like the P320 trigger more................they are both on the radar.

I wanted a P250 before I got the PM45.

Trying one later, glad I went Kahr. Much nicer trigger.
