Who's buying this B.S.? Iran captures two U.S. Navy vessels that entered their waters "inadvertently". Did both boats lose their GPS at the same time? If one boat became disabled why wasn't it towed by the other? What were they doing 300 miles from the nearest Navy ship without an escort? Nothing about this incident passes the smell test. Would anyone like to hazard a guess as to what was really going on? A curious sailor would like to know.

I thought the apology made to to Iran made by one of the sailors sounded like he was in fear of being beheaded if he didn't say what he did. It reminded me of some of ISIS beheading scenes.

Wouldn't it be strange if this was set up between two countries to show how swell one of the countries is? One of the countries is on schedule to receive a few billion from the other but it is being hotly contested. Maybe the picture of the sailors on their knees with their hands behind their heads wasn't meant to be released? Another Fast and Furious set up gone wrong. Wouldn't it be strange?

For example, why were we told anything at all about this incident? Who alerted the media - Iran? It could have begun and ended with no one finding out about it till years later, if that had been desired.

It's short duration and mild outcome just sounds like a publicity stunt. Yet, what went on that we weren't told about?

the vagueness of the mechanical breakdown isn't credible. The sailors and Navy spokesmen would know exactly what failed on the vessel, and there's no reason to keep that a secret. "We ran out of fuel," or, "fuel contamination," or, "hydraulic leak". Why not include that info? Because it's a lie and our veterans don't lie? Nothing broke down?

Those boats have two engines, sat nav and comms, equipment to tow, etc. They aren't fishing boats with limited resources.

The LT that gave the "statement" should be brought up on charges, IMHO.

The sailors I served with would never have "surrender" like they did, unless it was all some kind of act. These were two SWCC crews, not belonging to any US vessel. Oh, the SW stands for Special Warfare. No, they aren't SEALS but they do belong to SpecWar none the less.

Not every situation warrants a defense to death action. They're in American hands again and presumably will continue to serve which beats caskets. I don't know what happened yet but believe we will eventually like Benghazi, but I picture a half dozen Iran go fast patrol boats surrounding them likely in Iranian waters. Why were they there? Don't know, perhaps chased there by Iran. I do know that under a strong president and military Iran would have a) not forced them into Iran, b) would have warned them into international waters.

I thought they were SWCC too but was told by someone that had been there recently they were Riverine boats. Part of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command. Still bad dudes. I dont think they allow females in SWCC yet, at least they didnt 4 years ago.

Everyone is making such a big deal out of the men kneeling with their hands behind their heads. If we caught similar boats in our waters we would do the same until they were searched. Basic precaution. If they were forced to stray like that after they were searched then Iran over stepped. We owe them an apology by the diplomatic corps. We were in their territorial waters with military equipment. They could have strayed there by boat one having a GPS problem not known to them and boat two blindly following. I don't trust the Obama Admin on this one. It could have been an accident. They may have just dropped off some infiltrators and got caught on the way out. If we ever get the truth it will be a long time coming.
