View Full Version : New CM9 in cardboard box?
I bought a new Kahr CM9 today and it came in a cardboard box. Is that right or should it have came in a plastic case? Thanks.

Bought mine new a little over 3 years ago and it came in a cardboard box. Trying to keep the price down I guess. Didn't really matter as it has been an excellent gun.

My CM45 also came in black cardboard. PM9 came in plastic. No biggie to me, both guns are fun, good shooters.
You see, it's a little-known fact that Kahr has a little fun with us naming the CM series (Cardboard Model) and the PM series (Plastic Model).

well sure a recycled plastic box is worth $200 right?

My CW9 also came in a cardboard box, I was expecting a plastic one like I had seen in many reviews, but I think at some point Kahr started putting their "value line" in boxes rather than cases.
Not that the plastic one is anything special, a standard hard pistol case is far superior.

My CM9 came in a plastic case from a local Cabela's.

Cardboard or plastic, it doesn't matter, because they are coming out of the box and heading into a silicone sock and into the safe. The boxes/cases get piled on the shelf of the closet.
Gotta be careful with those boxes, they are rust traps!

I care more about my weapon's accuracy and reliability than the box it came in. In essence, it isn't an issue with me.

I keep all of my boxes for resale or trade-ins. It seems someone always likes the original box and paperwork!

Both plastic and cardboard boxes sit empty, except for paperwork, etc., taking up space on my shelf. I have never kept any handgun in the original box.
