So far, really liking it! Had a little issue with a squeaky trigger - really - SQUEAKY! There was also some grabby feel to the takeup, but a pre-flight fluff and buff took care of that.

Compared to Kahr's trigger, I like the Kahr better. I'm just so used to the smooth as the inside of yer girlfriends thigh pull and click! This one has a smooth pull till you hit "the wall", then its about 5lbs with a wee bit of creep to release things.

The Ruger American - on its way back to Ruger BTW - has a trigger that makes you wonder where to put the cheese on it. Maybe it will come back nicer. Its going back because the slide stop over rides the followers, barely catches at times, and sometimes catches squarely. Result is no hold open, or a jammed half open/closed slide. Yay Ruger!

Sweet! The Ruger American looks interesting. I've seen a bunch of reviews. Hopefully, they fix it nice and quick.

I really like shooting PPQs. A friend I shoot with has one, and it is accurate and I can't put holes near the middle of the target nearly as quickly with other pistols. Well, I can with my worked over CZ75s, but they aren't the way they came from the factory. They aren't any better than the PPQ to shoot either. Nice choice CJB!

Sound like some minor new model bugs . You made one right and rugers CS is good about fixing there issues quickly . I went with the p320 over a ppq , p30 or fns after shooting them together but heck they all serve well for many folks .

Gona try waiting for caracal f to be my next buy. I don't have a full size 9mm now and miss the one I had when they recalled all of them . I really liked that pistol .

Right now I'm trying to decide between the PPQ9 and the HK VP9. Ergonomics seem similar, but I've been unable to find either to shoot. CJB, is it too large for EDC?

Colt Commander size in 9 or 45 and a schweeeet trigger. Think 4.5lbs and 1911 crisp after no resistance takeup.

Thought I'd follow up with the PPQ. I did have a little, but short lived, drama. Lost a part. Yah. I was cleaning and tweaking, and lost the firing pin block. Ordered a new one... then... 2 days later, after curry combing the office here, found it. It is written...

Folks I gotta say, this THE best pointing, THE best trigger, THE best ergonomic pistol I've ever fired. And, folks... I got to shoot most everything, being instructor, and range hand, and gunsmith, and general hack at two local ranges.

Some pistols, you gotta actually TRY to not disrupt the sight picture as you pull the trigger. You gotta practice and get muscle memory and practice and shoot and practice.

The PPQ-45, for me at least, I can pull the trigger most any which way, while lookin' at the sights, and calling the shot is easy, as nothing is disrupted at all.

I did have to correct a minor issue with the trigger. Won't go into it, but it was simple. You pull the trigger, you get a smooth, almost no effort take up. Then you hit a very flimsy wall, put a bit of pressure on things and "click". Imagine decently tuned 1911, with about three eights inch take up the a 4.5 pound release that is super crisp. Then, 1911-like reset. Perhaps better.

Amazingly nice trigger.

Amazingly nice ergonomics.

Top end disassembly, requires nothing more complex than a small punch, a stout paperclip would do. The striker plate has a nice release detent. The extractor pivot is a spring loaded plunger. The extractor holds the striker block. So, press the flush detent with your little poker, slide off the door. Nothing to fly out. Take out the striker. Press the plunger for the extractor, slide it out, again, nothing to fly out. Then lift out the striker block. Parts dont fly to the next county... they may pop onto your workbench top, as there is _some_ spring pressure, but not a huge amount. Same for the recoil spring assembly. It all just "works".

For a full size pistol, this one just about takes the cake. I may be ditching my FNX-45 and new Ruger American 45... screw it. Use those to finance another PPQ45, then put a for in it and call it done, the pistol is that good, that extraordinary.

Yes, I really like the PPQs as well. Congratulations on it. For a factory pistol, I don't know of a better one either. My warmed over CZ75s though are pretty nice. You might like a CZ97 (I think that is the .45) from Cajun Gun Works, you know, when you find yourself needing another pistol...

Thanks Alfonse!

I've had a CZ75 (pre B) from 1982ish I think. NObody had a CZ75 back in the late 1980's. They were the stuff gun rags pined over. Nice shooters! Mine had a little issue with the trigger bar spring. The screw that holds it sheared. No problem! I was able to EDM out the old screw and drill/tap for a 6-32 stainless socket head cap screw. DONE!

If anyone out there has a CZ75, done up in GunKote (K-Kote) and a 6-32 stainless steel socket head cap screw holding your trigger bar spring... it was mine! Sold it for buy'n a house money.

I'll probably keep the FN and Ruger. Can't have too many .45's. Just get another PPQ45!!! I'm trying to stick with as few platforms as I can for actual carry. The PM45's/PM9 have worked exceedingly well for me in pocket carry. We're about to go open carry here in FL... maybe by June. At that point, I'd consider belt carry, more or less concealed but f'it if it shows from time to time. The PPQ45 has my keen interest in that particular circumstance. Its Commander size, so not to big. Points like the finger of God. Lucky 13 shots. And they're .45ACP. Hard to say no to. The Ruger ain't what they claimed on all those videos. Decent enough trigger, but its so much like a rat trap, the cats wait and stare at it, and you always wonder... "Where do you put the cheese?"

CJB, are you going to do anything with the sights or are you happy as is? The dots seem very small to my old eyes. Do you have any issues with carrying a full size EDC?

Dots seemed ok, very bright. Average size I'd say. The only aftermarkets are tritium.. and I generally don't like those. The Von Stavenhangen "dot the i" sights do ok for me too. I dunno, if push came to shove, I think I'd rely more on the finger of God pointing than trying to hit anything that a different type of sights would make much difference on.

As for carry... Florida should have open carry very soon, so it won't be an issue. Kahr, & PPQ, great team.

I'm not really into open carry but sort of a semi concealed, shirt over the pistol, and if it shows... no big deal.
