I have just purchased my first Kahr and I have a question about the magazine which I have yet to find anyone asking about this issue. Sometimes when feeding a round the next round down is also pushed forward about a quarter inch. Is this typical?

It has never caused a FTF and I only notice it because I would feed a round and try to drop the mag to put in another round and it won't drop. When I careful pull it out the next round is partially out of the feed lips. Happens about 30 percent of the time and didn't matter if it is a full mag or just two rounds.

I did do almost all of the prep that is suggested here and have put 200 rounds through it. 175 FMJ and 25 HP. Only other issue I had was the slide locked open twice before the mag was empty. Once with FMJ and once with HP. It doesn't look like the rounds touch the slide stop but I may take a little off it.

Love the gun it shoots great.

Welcome!

Yes, that sometimes happens. Since I try to avoid any extra work, I usually go ahead and put a round in the chamber when I have only loaded 2 or 3 rounds in the magazine. There is less spring tension (so those rounds are easier to load, hence the avoid extra work part, load one round more easily) so the rounds shift around a bit less when you chamber a round. Then, I top off the magazine.

Thanks I figured it wasn't just this gun. I would probably wouldn't have noticed it so soon except I wanted to shoot the gun in the same state it would be carried, one in the chamber and a full mag.

Many auto's do that, usually doesn't cause a malfunction. I've seen it on 1911's, and others as well.

No worries, get shooting.
