Colt Competition Pistol
Shooters aiming to add a race-ready pistol to their safe might not have to look any further than the Colt Competition Pistol. Loaded with a number of performance enhancing features, the 1911 has the potential to have competitors banging steel and silhouettes in record times.
One of the more notable aspects of the semi-automatic, available in .45 ACP or 9mm, is Colt’s Dual Spring Recoil System. Originally developed for the M45A1 — the 1911 used by U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Command — the system dampens the pistol’s recoil. This aids in the overall accuracy of the Competition Pistol, reducing muzzle flip and keeping it on target.
The pistol’s other features include a 5-inch National Match Barrel, Novak adjustable rear sight and fiber optic front, undercut trigger guard and upswept beavertail grip safety for improved ergonomics and blue Colt logo G10 grips.
The pistol’s price tag also has the potential to get shooters racing for it with its present MSRP $899.
It looks like a winner to me, and the price as far as Colts go isn't too bad.

These were pointed out to me a couple days ago. They are in fact out on the street too. I figured it for another one of them deals where they advertise it but won't be out till 2019.
I'd like another Colt in the stable and your correct, for a Colt the price point is pretty good.
I'll see if I can vaporize that attached photo, this will be a test and only a test.
If you wake up tomorrow looking to wear a dress you know I hit the wrong button.

So, if I add a dual recoil spring to my 1911 it's basically the same? Being that's the major difference.

Yes, another 1911, with the goodies it should come with in the first place. They just lowered the price for a Colt, which it should be at in the first place.

If your current 1911 has a NM barrel, adjustable rear sight, fiber optic front sight, extended thumb safety, blended high-ride beaver tail, and undercut trigger guard, then I'd say, yeah, adding the dual recoil springs and guide rod would make it basically the same.
If it's any good, at that price point it will give SA's Range Officer a run.

From what I read that is exactly Colts plan to compete with the Range Officer which word has it is a real good gun.
I'm sure looking forward to seeing one, despite the fact that I think they blew it when they turned their back on the public (pretty much) to go after military contracts there's something about having a genuine Colt.
I'm kind of in yo yo mode, I really want one, then don't really need it, then really want one. I guess time will tell who wins out.

It's one of those things where the brand is worth something to most. Maybe not you or I but most.
It's often been said that the reason the fine ole Colts are not longer being produced is because nobody was willing to pay for them. When you see the price folks are paying for a Python or some of the others it kind of makes sense.
Course when your piggy bank looks like mine, even if your willing to pay, don't mean you can or will pay.

The Colt is available on auction sites at around $750. That's about what I paid for my RO. I'd buy another RO (glued in ejector and all) if it was in the $550 range new.
I think the last Colt I bought new was closer to $800 (one those with the "100 years of service" roll mark).

My bad, that happens sometimes. Some of these buttons are confusing to simple folks such as myself.

Crap! Just checked with local shop and they have this Colt in stock. Listed 849 but we get a LE discount of not sure how much.
I know if I go look at this thing, it's be trouble in river city for bawanna.
5 minute trip and I'd know if it's LOVE or NOT!

Bunch of dang instigators around here. I'm pretty set on a 5". That is a 45 Colt which is right and proper though.
Sure get a lot of money for those things, probably why it's taking so long for me to adopt one.
How many 1911's does a man really need? Can a man really have too many 1911's?
Isn't it nice to have one perfect holster and be able to select from a whole wardrobe to fill it?
I think I've officially gone round the bend.
