After being on the fence for years I just got into reloading just for pistol. Worked out a .38special and .357 mag load and next I plan on picking up some 9mm dies. I've started saving some 9mm brass from my K9 and boy it's beat up pretty good which I know if normal for some kahrs. Bent and scratched case mouth and some dented up case rims are what I'm seeing.

Do some of you reload spent brass from Kahrs??

Since I'm new to reloading maybe what I'm seeing is fine to reload, but compared to the pristine cases from my revolver they look pretty beat up.

I'll try to post some pics later.

You shouldn't have any trouble reloading the 9mm brass from your K-9. The sizing die will straighten out those case mouth dents and the expander plug will flare them nicely. I have reloaded over two thousand of them and haven't lost a case yet.

I've entered a whole new world no doubt.

I'll check it out

I loaded 9mm 40 and 45 for kahrs , regular and polygonal rifled barrels and use only hi-tek coated bullets from buyou bullets and current runs are swc from Missouri bullets .

While I reload for several rifle rounds plus many pistol calibers I've never bothered with 9x19 since I'm finding Perfecta now for under $10 (before tax) for a box of 50.

I've been questioning the value of 9mm reloading also, jpshaw. Outside of producing my sd rounds, I'll probably not reload many practice rounds, unless I need reloading therapy!

I can reload with Berry's for less than 15 cents per round. (depending on the sales I can find).

With police 1x fired brass (n/c) I am doing 115 gr FMJ copper coated bullet reloads for 9.9 cents each/$9.90 per 100!

I use this excellent (Thanks to Our Own Garyb) calculator to calculate costs.

Nice to know this.
I'm about 30 mins from bayou bullets and can pick them up at a local reloading store. I'm using them for .38 sp and .357 mag right now.

Got to decide were your times best spent . For many years I worked so much reloading was not practical . Always something to do . Now that I am retired reloading ammo helps the day go buy and with cost being half what even the cheapest production ammo cost why not reload if you have the spare time .

I reload, and cast bullets, for the therapy if it. Relaxing to me and gratifying when I find "the" load. Good luck to ya.

I lose about 20% of mine every time I go to the range. I think the brass fairy gets them.

Well, I'll tell ya'll, I find them and pick them up! Really pisses me off, cause I reload .380... Now my 380 brass, that's what the brass fairy really collects, I lose about 1 round for every 2 magazines.

Oh and Downtown, how do you figure that chimp is a guy? Just askin.
