Thinking of getting either a CT9 or a TP9. With the TP9's polygonal barrel, I think I know I cannot shoot lead bullets, and that I need to shoot FMJ. Well, how about copper plated bullets? Like these: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1050308877/rainier-leadsafe-bullets-9mm-355-diameter-124-grain-plated-round-nose
Can I shoot these plated bullets in the polygonal barrel without lead fouling?
They may foul.
I've shot tons of lead through my PM45 (poly rifling), and it never fouled much at all, and cleaned easily. YMMV as 45 bullets go a wee bit slower than 9mm bullets do.

I use them and they work great, just don't load for over 1500 fps is what I think they recommend on their site. Another great bullet is the one produced by Berrys manufacturing. https://www.berrysmfg.com/

According to Lee's reloading handbook, there are only three possible loads that go just slightly over 1500fps -- and those are for "90gr XTP" bullets -- I'm not even sure what those are! Just to make sure, you were referring to plated bullets and not a lead compund?

You do have the option of using Hi-Tek coated bullets that sooo many bullet companies are now selling and they runthey work well in polygonal rifling . I have run a few thousand coated bullets from Buyou and Missouri bullets thru both my regular and polygonal kahr 's and my sigs polygonal barrels .
Most times the price is lower than traditional lubed lead and eg copper coated .

I've got some of those bullets too! So glad you mentioned this because I never thought they would work in polygonal rifling! The bullets I have are from a local guy: http://www.snscasting.com/bullet-information/. The website lists the same velocity limits as for the copper plated bullets. Wow, more options! Price listing is $62/1000 9mm 115gr. RN bullets. Not sure what shipping would be -- I got mine at a local gun shop.

You will want to get a lyman M die for neck expansion . It gives that little extra that lead and coated bullets need over a normal expansion die .
If you paid $62 a 1000 locally that's a sns retail price so good buy for 115gr
