Picked up one of these at the gun show last weekend....$315.00 and is a real nice pistol for someone needing a bedside pistol or a car gun and who doesn't want to spend two hundred fifty more to get a Block....This gun is well made and is a Smith with a lifetime warranty....The trigger is very different from my M&P and is quite long and about 8 pounds or so but for the price I don't see how you could beat it......If you're on a budget but want a quality pistol from a company with a first rate warranty and customer service check out one of these.....

I've had the opportunity to shoot one in both .40 and 9mm..........................for the money, it would be a good bedside, I don't know if I would carry one or not. The trigger is an issue, and I am not familiar if their are any fixes out there. You can also use it for pistol whipping.......................................... ....:o

I have the sd9ve. Here is a video of some upgrades you can do.http://youtu.be/wJzrSerr16k
The sd also uses the m&p9 sights.

I'm not sure, but I hope he doesn't have to use any of his firearms for defensive purposes in his state. A prosecutor will make mince meat out of him in a court of law.

Yea the video was a little slow but he did make some good points....I'm going to give this one to one of my sons for a birthday present and I wanted to get him something decent but within my budget...This pistol can be improved but as is, for the money I don't think you can beat it....It has a factory front dovetailed night sight which is nice but they saved money by using a polymer rear sight but who cares...It feels much better in my hand than a Glock and IMHO the trigger pull isn't really all that bad and will smooth up a good bit with use and to me feels better out of the box than my daughters Glock 19 with several hundred rounds through it...Apex makes a kit for the factory trigger which would help but for a bedside or car gun for a casual shooter needing a self defense pistol this is a nice gun for a great price that can be improved in stages over time for very little money and a HUGE improvement over the original Sigma....

Apex makes a kit for the factory trigger which would help.
I have both the SD9 & 40 both are fantastic pieces bought both of mine used & for what i pd i'll never get rid of them, they are great guns & handle very well side by side with more expensive brands.
Yes Apex does make a great spring kit & both of mine do have them installed, you will notice a big difference from factory & just like other spring kits in other brands you will be pleased.
IMHO if you choose to change the factory pull weight just do the Apex spring kit, i have personally tried SD models with the complete trigger & spring kit so do yourself a favor & save the $80 for the trigger kit & just go with the $20 spring kit.
i would not hesitate to carry either & yes i have myself.
Every time i've taken them to the range they continue to impress me more & more each time, i also agree that for the money there is'nt a better bang for your buck out there with high cap mags.
