While cleaning from the range, I found this and not sure if it suppose to be there. It is on the slide in the half moon area where the slide lock pin goes in. It appears under magnification that it is a burr from casting or milling, what ever they do. Just want to make sure its not suppose to be a tab or something. Any guesses? Should I file it or send it back?

Hard to tell what that is......have you tried scraping it out?
If it doesn't interfere with the disassembly/assembly procedure, it's probably not worth bothering about
As a last resort, if scraping doesn't work, I'd opt for polishing/filing it smooth before sending it back.

Yes I have tried scraping it out, it is a part of the slide. I am having problems with it not locking back on empty mag and was wondering if that was the problem. Maybe not letting the Slide lock pin go in all the way to catch the mag? Just guessing. I could file it IF its for sure not suppose to be there, but being a week old not sure what that would do to any warranty claim?

It's not supposed to be there, but I doubt that has anything to do with your slide not locking back on an empty mag (have you checked the mag spring to see if it's properly oriented to the follower? (http://i62.tinypic.com/2uqj9mp.jpg))
As I said previously, if the stop goes in/out and the slide has full movement, then there's really nothing to worry about other than the cosmetics (a little judicious work would remedy that or, if you are worried about the warranty, contact Kahr customer service).

Greg

Kahr is notorious for leaving behind machining slag or burrs on their guns. Look at the closeup of your slide and you'll see a ridge that needs to be dressed down with a needle file or emery paper. I had to clean a whole bunch of it off my P380 when I got it as it was literally chewing into the plastic rails of the frame.

First time I've ever heard that said. Most gun reviewers are impressed with the quality of the fit and finish of Kahr pistols. Having been a CNC machinist I know that I'm impressed with it. You are going to find an occasional flaw in anything mass produced.

Just remove it. No big.

Thanks for your replies.. A couple swipes with a round file removed it and a little touch up with emery paper took care of it. After putting it back together I could see that it could not interfere with anything other that maybe making it harder to get the slide pin out. Now on to the other things.
