I just found this board, and wanted to join so I may learn about my new toy.

I picked up a new CW45 Monday. I know very little about Kahr, but won this weapon in a raffle drawing Sunday. Almost all of my semi-auto experience has been with Smith & Wesson. (5906, 6906, 3913, 4506) I'm eager to put some rounds through my CW, but I wanted to oil the slide rails first. The problem being I have been unable to remove the slide. I move it back 3/4 inch like the book says, but I've been unable to remove the pin.
This may very well be the wrong place to post this, but I'm trying to introduce myself as well. Thanks in advance for any helpful tips.

Welcome Luke, any place is the right place, no worries.

You just line up the witness marks or the notch in the slide with the back of the slide release pin. Never heard anybody call it 3/4" but that's probably close too.

Sometimes you have to take something and give the slide release a little tap or push with something hard like a screwdriver handle, a dowel or I usually just use a rubber tipped hammer.

Once you pop it loose just a bit you can pull it out.

When you go to take the slide off if it hangs up and doesn't want to go, pull the trigger a bit and it should run off fine.

You need any more help come on back, we got some smart folks around here and I'm lucky they let me hang out with them.

Re-reading the book, it says 1/2 inch, not 3/4. I missed the part about the marks you mentioned in the book, but it's there. I got it apart thanks to you. A little oil on the rails, and it's ready to make noise.

Luke,
In addition to the manual there is a wealth of information to be found in the "stickies" in the new members section of this website. I think that you're going to enjoy the new addition to your arsenal. What the hell, the price was right. :)
