Went by a local shop that I frequent. Dealer has a NIB CW40 for 519.00. Considering what I paid for my PM9, that sounds like a smokin' hot deal. I thought it was used, based on the price, but the dealer assured me it was NIB. I'm totally broke or I would grab it. Right now I can't even afford lay away:(.
So, back to the price, what do you think is up? That price seems curiously low. I've known the guy agood while and he has always been friendly and seemed honest. He is the new owner of this well established store, so maybe he's just trying to build a following or something.

Buds has a CW40 for 416 delivered.

Ohh.....that shows how much I know. I'm glad I didn't grab that one then. I would really feel like a schmuck. I just didn't realize there was such a difference in price between the PW and CW series. I should do my homework.

Yeah, I picked up a new CW9 at a local gun show two weeks ago for 419.00 out the door.

Bud's is a good benchmark for gun prices. I'll pay a few more bucks to support a local shop, but it has to be close.

Don't feel bad, I get hooked once in awhile (actually quite often) especially when love at first sight strikes and I don't have time to do my homework.
I too support local whenever I can but in this internet world it's pretty tough.
Most shops in my area don't carry kahrs, they say they are to expensive.
When I got my PM45 I asked a local dealer about getting me a price to see if I could support him, all he said was they are soooo expensive.
So I showed him my Bud's PM45 the next month at a gunshow. He said he could have ordered one for me. I gave him a chance ya know.
When it's time for a new gun, it's time for a new gun, don't try to hold me back..........................

Yeah, there is another dealer in town that likes to tell people what they want. I think it just boils down to what his particular distributors give him a deal on.

I also try to support my LGS and Range, but it's not always economical to do so. Two weeks ago Bud's was blowing out his S&W 4586's at $259 including shipping. It's a wonderful pistol, BTW, as big and heavy as a brick, but it looks and feels just as durable. Anyway, my LGS had the same gun in slightly better cosmetic shape, but w/o NS's for $399. I spent an hour with some 2000 grit sandpaper and some polish, and now my Bud's gun looks better than theirs and I have working NS's.
I think I redeemed myself yesterday though. I went in to see if they had any new 45's, and there was another customer looking at the same showcase. I pointed out the 4586 and went on and on about what a great pistol it was. When I left he had it in his hand and was discussing price.

Also, think about caliber.
40 is a harder shooter than the 9mm, and is marginally more powerful in most carry loads - it DOES make a bigger hole though!
It is also more expensive to shoot by about 50% these days.
Folks above are RIGHT - check Bud's every time! However, I would guess that MOST dealers will not ship your weapon back to the manufacturer for free unless you BUY it there (not from Bud's shipped to them). This could be an extra $40 out of your pocket IF you have a problem.
Just a thought...

My LGS won't do that even if you do buy it there. Fortunately, on the only two guns that had to go back, the manufacturer paid the shipping.

I bought my cw-40 used in January and paid $425 for it, but they gave me a great price on my Firestar that I traded in. The Kahr also had a new slide, recoil spring, guide rod and barrel, because the last owner had bent a spring and it was sent back to Kahr. They replaced just about everything but the frame and trigger! I was happy and thats all that matters to me.
