I bought a CW380 a few weeks ago and it has been super reliable. 220 rounds of mixed ammo brands, fmj's and hp's. However, I hand ejected a couple rounds and the slide locked forward with one in the chamber and now it will not budge. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance.

It is a small piece of PVC stuck into a block of wood. You do this on grass. YOU ARE NOT FIRING THE GUN. You are simply putting the barrel into the PVC, and pressing down. The barrel goes into the PVC, the PVC pushes the slide to the rear using your body force. Finger off trigger of course. I am not responsible for the misuse of this technique

Probably a small diameter PVC would work best

I went ahead and just shot it and it fired and ejected the round. I have duplicated the problem again but only when I manually eject the rounds. I just wondered if there was a problem that Kahr could fix.

You damn sure betcha Kahr can help, Sgt. I'd contact Kahr on this one yesterday. :) Are you dropping the mag and trying to eject just one round or are you trying to cycle all of the rounds through by racking the slide? Not a good practice to cycle live rounds. JMHO. What ammo are u using?

I was trying to cycle it through several rounds manually. The round was a Federal HST. What did Kahr tell you Muggsy?

I imagine this a problem similar to what we see more often in the 45ACP guns. To wit, because of the overall length of the round or the bullet shape, the chambered round is engaging the barrel's rifling...this makes it very difficult to manually eject.
The fix:
1. Don't use ammo that has an OAL or bullet shape that causes this. You can pull the barrel and do a drop test. Rounds should drop in freely to a depth that is about even with the barrel hood and drop out freely if if you turn the barrel upside down. If you have to push the round in to make it flush with the end of the barrel hood or the round does not drop freely, those rounds will probably be hard to eject manually once chambered.
2. Have more free bore/leade cut into you pistol's barrel.

If I use the slide release lever the round goes in and I can eject it fine. I am just wondering why it jams up when I don't use the slide release lever.

Well that's a puzzler, but I'd still do the drop test with the offending rounds.

Yup, exactly what I was thinking. I experienced a similar problem using golden Remington Golden Saber ammo. Critical Duty or Critical defense seems to work just fine in mine.

I did the drop test using Federal fmj's and the Federal HST's. Sure enough the fmj's slid right in and fell out when I turned it upside down. The HST's didn't go in all the way and stayed in when I turned the barrel upside down. So maybe I'll look at some different carry ammo. I really like the HST's though.

As Greg so eloquently stated you could have a little more free bore cut into your barrel.
Seems there was a fella around here that was set up to do that.
Or if you like the HST's you could probably check with Kahr and see if they will do it for you.
That would be a win / win as you'd be able to shoot most anything in case at some point all you can find is the HST.

The HST is a great round, but if you're looking to go to a different carry ammo, look at Hornady Critical Defense. Not the Critial Duty. I'm a huge proponent of the HST round, but if I can't find HST, I go with Critical Defense.

The HPR 90 gr hp, seemed to preform pretty well in gel tests.
