Ok. CM45... Is the issue of not being able hand eject a live round real, or mostly internet folklore? Anyone have one and can attest that theirs worked fine right out of the box and didnt need any tweeking? Any other issues with the model potentially? I'm in the market for a .45 and wanting one. Kinda of considering the CW45 also, but leaning towards the CM for its smaller size. I have a CM9 and it has been flawless and love it. Looking to give it a .45 big brother. Thanks.

Some of that is extractor, and even ammo brand, ie. Overall length and rim / groove sizing.

Had live round ejection problem with ball ammo, this fixed it. Had no issues with hollow points. As CJB stated, it's an OAL issue.

Well I only care about it concerning hollow points, as I don't carry with FMJ range ammo. Specifically, I carry HST so hopefully no one has had an issue with it in the CM45. Thanks for the response...

Yes. I had the ejecting live ball ammo issue but the fix was easy. I wouldn't let it stop me.

So, If I'm looking at a new CM45 at the gun shop I can look at the barrel hood and see if it's one of the newer ones that have had a little material removed to correct the problem? Sounds like some have it done from the factory?

^^correct if the barrel has the notch in it then you should be good to go (newest version), mine does not have the notch & will be paying a visit to the local Dr tomorrow.
personally mine will jam on hand eject with ball or hp & it is'nt brand picky, but like "B4" stated if you find the right deal don't let this issue stop you from buying.

i've also had a CW45 with no issues at all.

^thanks. I'm going to buy new, not used. Brand new ones should be the latest model, but I'll check it anyway before buying

Mine is the PM45....almost the same thing. Straight out of the box, I went through 100 round of round nose with only one FTE. I have fired 50 rounds of Federal Guard Dog without any issues....but that stuff is too expensive to shoot at paper. But, when carrying in defense mode, that is my round of choice for this gun.

I own many different brands and calibers of guns, and, with the exception of my Glock, none of them have performed as flawlessly as the PM45.

I bought a new CM45 last month, and it has been fine ejecting live rounds. I have not tried the 45 HST, but it does eject Gold Dots, Golden Sabers, Remington HTP and FMJ Speer and Blazer. I also have had no issues with it, other than a couple FTFeed the first round from a fresh magazine during the break-in period. I have used Kahrs recommendation of using the stop lever to release the slide. My CM 45 hasn't had an issue now since the 200 round break-in(Im at around 500 rounds), and has never had any issue with expensive Defense Ammo, only the low cost FMJ, so I trust it completely, and its my EDC.

The problem is... with some ammo, its pulling UNFIRED rounds out of the chamber. There are barrel hood, and slide relief cuts. They can only do so much. Some ammo, between the length and the way the rim/groove interacts with the extractor, will come out at an angle that makes the nose of the bullet in the round catch on the slide, even with its relief cut.

Its a minor, minor issue. I don't have an issue with it, as I forcefully rack, when unloading a live round from the chamber. Go slower... and it can catch. I just drop the mag, and give a good tug on the slide. Sometimes the round drops through the mag well. That's fine too, as it gets the job done. Again, a minor issue because I rarely have to perform that procedure, and when done with deliberation, its always successful.

Yup, eject with gusto and you'll have a more harmonious outcome.
