For outdoors they will be great. Indoors...not so much. I personally like a front FO and a rear blacked out sight combination. Easy to pick up the front sight and fast. But if you are going for target accuracy, the 3-dot might be better. I've tried a bunch of different sights and there are no clear winners. They all have their pros and cons. For the range, try several and use what you like. For self defense and at save-your-life distances, it's more important to be able to hit a man-sized target without sights (point and shoot) IMHO.

I have them on my GP100 and love them! I think they work fine indoors. You don't need all that much light to make them glow.

^^^ I stand corrected. Mine are all Hi-viz. And when I shoot at our indoor range, which is pretty dark, I need to back up under the overhead lights in order to see them well. I can see normal white painted sights better indoors. But outdoors...even on overcast days...they are bright. Also...different people find different colors better so experiment with that. Red works best for me. Just my experience. YMMV of course.

They might be ok for younger eyes, but I've gotten rid of those types of sights. I can't see them in any light anymore. I like white.......3 dot, dot the eye, front white rear blackout, anything but hi viz. As has been posted, you can't see them indoors, which for me makes them useless........................................... ..

Younger eyes? I'm 62 and put fire sights on my GP100 and think they're great. I'd put them on my K9 but will likely get TFX for the rare chance I need to shoot in very low light.

Sorry, I usually don't hold my firearm that close to my face.......................I can even see them from that close............normal shooting distance from face is totally different:o

I have a set of HiViz (similar) on my Glock 23. Lights up great with light. I like a green front sight. As a sight I prefer them over tritium. For me the only benefit of tritium is finding the pistol in the dark. As stated above, for self defense you really don't need sights, just point and click.

Just shipped my slide off to Kahr this morning to have a set of the green William's Firesights installed... have similar sights on a couple of other pistols, and think these will be the best for me. Should have the slide back in about 4-6 weeks. While I have a sight pusher- a very heavy-duty one, I decided it'd be best to have Kahr install them... $40 for the labor and $25 return postage- worth it for knowing it'll be done right. I did my sights on my S&W Shield 9mm- they were horrendous to get the old ones off. Broke one sight pusher! Shields are notorious for having ridiculously tight sights.

Got the gun back a couple of weeks ago... definitely like the new green sights a lot better than the "i" factory sights. Anxious to get out and shoot it!!

Wes Amazed you were able to remove the sights on the Shield. I could not do it. Gunsmith charged me $80.

They (S&W Shield sights) were, indeed- a beast!! I'd not want to do another one of them....
