Purchased my 3rd Kahr - a S/S PM9. During prepping it for its first trip to the range in next few days, I had an issue that I have not experienced with either my PM45 or P380 at any time. After taking out the slide stop, I could not release the slide from the lower by pressing the trigger. I noticed that the leading edge of the top of the rectangular portion of the barrel was catching on the slide and it took some depressing of that top portion of the barrel while I was strong-arming the slide and pressing the trigger to get it to release. Not easy! Thinking that maybe this was a one-time event with a very tight new handgun, I disassembled and tried again with the same result. Has anyone had this problem? I have always found it easy to strip a Kahr until now.

The barrel and slide come off together as a unit. The barrel hood or square part shouldn't have to move to slide off. Are you holding the trigger down during the whole removal process? I slide mine forward till it stops, then pull the trigger, actually sometimes move the trigger back and forth and the slide releases and slides the rest of the way off.
I'm kind of confused on whats happening on yours but I'm confused easily so that doesn't mean much.

Sorry for not explaining correctly. I just stripped and assembled two more times and the last time things worked exactly like they should. I may need to take my Dremel and smooth down a rough spot in the underside of the slide that has a very small protruding piece of steel that may have caused this problem. I also noticed that this is one of the new style PM9s...

:eek::eek::eek:

Just kidding.......I'm sure you are better with one of those than me. Anything I have ever used a Dremmel on (not a gun) ended up looking like hammered crap.

Love means never having to say your sorry, especially to bawanna types. I hope you got a handle on this. Maybe a picture would help us big word challenged types understand better?
