Well, a trip out to the Oatman Massacre (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive_Oatman) site got off to a memorable start when a heater hose burst about 20 miles from home. Fortunately, the correct tools for the job were on board and we finished the day without incident (about 200 miles total of desert and hardtop travel). My Mora side knife made quick work on the bad section of the hose.

Replacing the hoses was a much more difficult proposition. One end requires removing the alternator. The heater ends are up under the cowling in a difficult spot to reach. A lot of work on this end is done blind, in an awkward position. I tried cutting the hoses off with a razor knife, but couldn't get enough leverage and was having difficulty seeing what I was doing. I ended up trying a pruning knife and it cut all the hoses off with little effort.

For a little firearm content:
I picked up a well worn S&W Model 36 at a gun show recently that turned out to be a good shooter.
Here's a shot of it with the rubber grips that came on it (I had put some cold blue on the barrel by this point):

I decided to forgo any further bluing touch up, but did swap out the rubber for some polished stag and a Tyler "T" grip adapter:
