Love the Hagg---the workingman's poet
At one of his concerts I almost got my *** kicked by a cowboy that seems like he was 7 ft tall. Problem was my cowboy hat was blocking his gals view of the stage.

He should have had some "marijuana in Muskogee" and lightened up:rolleyes:

I got to see him back in '83 (bit of a story on that) and again last year when the inlaws came up for a visit. Truth be told, there was no comparisons between the two performances. The '83 concert was fantastic, but to see him again last year was unforgettable. Sad to see the legends passing on but I've been blessed to see a number of them.

I also have had the good fortunes of being able to see several old timers, good thing I got tickets to go see Mr Haggard just this past summer with it being his last ride.
**RIP** Merle

Well damn, first glance I thought this thread might have been about one of our presidential hopefuls demise.

But, all respects due, RIP Merle.
