For now,I only carry a cm9.
I'm getting a belt. 100.00 range.
So, first, does anybody use a v clip with Velcro?
There are so many choices.
Galco sb2
Comp tac Velcro lined
Cross breed with Velcro kit
Latigo canyon , offered with Velcro
Bullhide double stitched.
Those are the ones I liked.
Which ones do you recommend?
I put that list together from searching around here.
Do you add the internal stiffener when it is an option?

I can't help you........................I use a Wilderness 5 stitch belt............can't beat them, or the price.

Everybody will see a nylon belt. Leather is the only way for me
Wild Bill belt, $60 best I can remember. IMHO no need for internal stiffener with a proper belt.
Pocket carry CM9.

I purchased a beltman belt about 5 years ago with the internal stiffener. Carried IWB, Glock 30. If I had to do it all again, I would buy beltman, but im really looking at those new ratchet belts, those things would be great for adjustments.

Daltech Force Bullbelt...around $40 IIRC... leather. Plenty thick enough but comfortable. And looks like a normal belt.

Me too. What's the name of the ratchet company? They looked a little thin but dressy...and just stiff enough to work. Someone needs to buy one and give a first hand report.

I'll have to look closer at mine, the guy doesn't make belts anymore but I think his son or nephew took over.
Mernickle makes nice gun belts from plain to real fancy.
There's a ton of choices out there now days.
I used to use the Wilderness 5 stitch myself but it shrunk or something. It was a little diameter sensitive as I recall, had to be a pretty close fit.
I don't think the stiffener is really needed provided as mentioned it's a good leather belt. I think Wynn wears the ones with the poly inserts with good success.

The Kore tracklline is one but if you do a search for "Ratchet Gun Belts" you get several hits.

With the Wilderness belt, you have to order a correct size, but..............there are no holes, so it fits whether you gain weight, or lose it. Stiffener definitely not needed. Lots of people like leather, but personally, I hate getting dressed up for any reason, so I don't need leather.

That one is really doing it for me.
The gunner at hanks is cool, but the buckle reviews got me worried

That looks really good and dirt cheap for as good as it looks. The roller buckle is the ticket and that one looks nice. Not too bulky like some.
I'd not hesitate to go for it myself.

That looks like the one I've been wearing for years and it is holding up great. It was made by some guy referred to from forums, but I don't think he is doing it anymore. Might be the guy Bawanna was trying to think of. I would buy the Daltechforce one. I don't worry about the size changing. My belt size hasn't changed in 40 years.

It's double stitched, roller stainless buckle, beveled edges and sealed edges. Even available with 3/4 hole spacing. It's perfect.
I think I will order the 3/16 and not the 1/4 thick. Doesn't seem necessary with a light weapon.
And I should get the 1.5? Would the 1.25 do?
Seems like the 1.25 would do fine and be much less obvious.
Am I crazy or should I get the 1.5?
Free shipping and has everything I want for 60.00

^^ i've been wearing one that's just single stitched for +/- 2 years now and still works great. There are a couple of vendors who show up at local gun shows and sell them real cheap.

I think you'd be fine with 1.25 if that's your normal size and style. I'd probably go the thicker if you go 1.25.
Rigidity is what you seek and thickness is what gets you there.
Nothing like a good stiff belt ya know?:behindsofa:

When you can roll up a thick, stiff leather gun belt to fit into a small box, I become suspect. My belt is so stiff, it barely bends around me.
Now this one looks really nice: https://www.daltechforce.com/specialty-belts/super-stiff-bull-hide-bullbelt®-with-internal-stiffener
Same company, but has steel reinforcement, pretty nice! Id get the 1/4th Bullhide with the steel liner, 1.5 inches wide. That will spread the weight of your attachments around your whole waist and stop the sagging on your gun side.

Did you see the belt on a box?

The investigator dress belt at the bottom of that same page linked to looks good too. 1.25 and kind of dressy if you have to dress up for work and stuff.
With optional stiffener it would be close to a 100 bucks but a lot of good gun belts are 100 bucks easy.
I didn't see a box either.
When mine was new (I forgot to try and find the guys name) you could almost hold it out straight in front of you.
It's a good belt, need to put some polish or something on it from sliding stuff on and off it.

What about the width in regards to my holster clips?
Will the 1.25 belt allow the holster to move around of the cloud are 1.5", or is that not really a Concern?
Bawanna
04-12-2016, 04:23 PM
Usually with a thick quality gun belt it's not a concern. I have some clip type holsters that are difficult to get over my belt, they weren't designed for the thickness.
Loop style holsters might move a bit but again usually not enough to be a concern. Gives you a little additional cant option.

Well,I made up my mind.
Daltech dual layer stitched. Decided the dual layer was a better option. No internal stiffener.
1.5" wide
.25 thick
Silver stainless roller buckle (my accessories are all silver, no gold)
3/4" hole spacing
Size 37
64.00 shipped.
I'm excited.

I'm excited too. Let us know how it works and what you think of it when it arrives.
Seems like a heck of a good deal if it's half as good as it looks.

So much to say here......
Came in a bag, like a white bubble lined bag.
Inside it had a business card and one additional fastener set, a coupon, made in USA sticker and the belt.
Belt is thick and not too stiff. It's great. I wish I had purchased a good belt ten years ago. Holds pants up without being too tight. Seems like quality build.
Holds the weapon in a completely different fashion. You have to relearn where to wear it. It's unreal how much better it feels while seated. Standing it digs my hip a bit. I'm going to drill a hole in the clip to change the angle, again. I already drilled the rear one. Now I will drill the front one. I can't move the rear one back because in the original position it is too low to grab easily. If I bring the front up, it will be the same original can't, but easier to grab. It's going to take some learning again, but it is really more stable this way. This belt makes it easier to bend over, easier to run, easier to do things without worrying about printing.
For 64.00 and free shipping,I wish I had one ten years ago. The communication via email was amazing. Three conversations and all of them were within three hours of the original email.
I would recommend this company, so far, as a top notch choice.
Very impressed. 9 days order to delivery. Great price, great product

I was really surprised how much of a difference a good belt made. It distributes the weight better around your waist. It will, no mater how thick, eventually mold itself to your shape, becoming more comfortable.

I kind of consider OWB carry without a good belt, kind of crazy..................no stability.

Still love this belt.
It's softer now and very comfortable. The holster stays very well, I'm glad I chose the 1.5" wide because the clips for perfect on the wider belt.
I have recommended this brand to several people since I bought.
