I recently bough a used K40. Compared to the other Kahr's I've owned, the trigger has a lot of travel before it gets to any resistance. I prefer the light revolver like trigger. I have no gunsmithing experience. What springs would I need to replace and is it something a novice can do? Thanks

I higher social circles trigger "slop" is known as free travel or take up. Since we can't see your gun, how much free travel do you have? Most double action semi-auto guns need to have some free travel for the trigger to work properly. It may be something that you'll have to get used to. You could possibly have a problem with the trigger bar and that's something best left to Kahr to repair or replace. You could call the mothership and see what they have to say.

That is the best way to describe it - take up. I have 3 other Kahr's and they don't have near as much free travel. I measured, it's a little over a 1/4 inch before there is any resistance. Wondered if there was a spring that needed replacing.
Thanks.

Kahrs trigger does not "take up " on the striker till the triggers moved a good ways back . Does it function fine as it is now ? There is a couple springs that a previous own could have monkeyed with or been shot enough to need changing !! Trigger spring and trigger bar spring . Pull up an exploded view of the K series to see where there at . Contact kahr about getting those parts and depending on your ability, change them your self or send it home for some tlc .
Just jump on Kahrs web sight, you can order a overhaul kit for your K40. Here-----> http://www.kahr.com/Gun-Maintenance/Kahr-K-and-E-Series-Spring-Maintenance-Kits-K40-KSKK40.asp

A 1/4" of free travel is normal. there's nothing wrong with your gun.
