9mm Mag mix and match question?

Alfonse can probably answer this one, but I'm putting it out there for discussion.

Is there any reason that you could not take a Kahr 7 round mag w/finger extension, ie: the MK720, and replace the finger extension with a flat base plate to be used in a CW9?

Nope, that would work fine.

I did that with my P40 and then my P9. I prefer the flattest base possible for concealment.

My P40 bit me... there was too much gap between the metal base and the grip, so I added a 3/32"x3/4"ID neoprene plumbing washer to stop the pinches. I added the same to my P9 just in case.

As I did with the P40, I put an O-ring on the magazine with the metal base plate to stop pinching. I haven't fired the P9 with the metal one, but the 3/32" thick by 3/4" inner diameter O-ring fits and doesn't cause binding or loosening of the lockup of the magazine, so I'll go ahead with the O-ring without trying for a pinch.

I'll video the P9 test and get some freeze-frame flashes of the ported barrel firing. And I'll see if it helps my shooting any. I still jerk the danged trigger... even when I concentrate! I'm in a hurry when shooting.:rolleyes:

Pix of the 9mm mags with O-rings. The smaller ones are 3/32" and 3/4" inner diameter, so should fit tighter and not be too big. I got the smaller ones on the way back home. The 1/8" hindered magazine lockup.

Thanks guys, I'm shopping for some more mags for my CW9 and see there are quite a few people seem to be getting rid of their extended mags for their micro Kahr's on ebay. Looks to be a cheap way of picking up extra mags.
