I handled a NIB/Used PM 45 Kahr at a shop on Satruday. VERY nice - fits the bill perfectly for a CCW 45 - a STAR PD alternative. But a few questions:

1. The trigger SEEMED a tad shorter and lighter than my PM9. WHile the salesman said that the gun was unfired LNIB, and I DO believe it (pistol was tight - like welded together with no firing impressions, etc.), what was with the trigger - it was different.

2. It SEEMS that KAHR and 45s are having a tough time getting along. I know the PM9s had trouble for a while, but I keep seeing threads with the 45s as having issues. So... I guess you need to buy a BRAND new one to ensure the warranty thing...

3. HOW is the CW 45 compared to the PM 45 - the PM 45 seems to be larger than the PM9 by a bit - the grip is much longer. So... how about the CW 45? Do they have 'less problems' because they are a tad larger? (small 1911s are known to have trouble in some lines...)

Thanks.

1. Don't worry about the trigger, most of that is a difference in striker springs.
2. We just hear about more problems here, part of having a site dedicated to Kahrs
3. Most Kahr's are good out of the box, again we hear more about them here.

If you like the gun and it feels good in the hand, see if you can shoot it, then do so. If you can't make the best choice and go with it. You will have far fewer regrets that way.

CW is same size as P 45. Not as small as PM 45. I have both

P 45 and PM 45 and my friend has CW 45. CW 45 has standard

rifling in the bbl. P and PM has Plygon. bbl. CW does not have

dove tail front sight, but KAHR now has CW front sights for sale

now. CW comes with one mag, P/PM comes with two. Retail

on mags is about $44. Not sure on the price difference for

CW vs P/PM 45. I think about $150 less. You can't go wrong

with any one IMO.

Love my CW45. Less recoil than the xd45c I had. I shoot the .45 better than my PM9 or CW9. Zero feed/eject issues.
