As some of you may know I had sent my Kahr PM9 back to the factory to get checked out and now that it is all set to be shipped back to me I was offered the addition of night sights to my pistol for $80 (waiving install fee and shipping of couse). I'm just looking for some feedback from those who have the night sights on whether or not they've been proven to last a long time and if they think they are worth it in general. I was more than happy with the simple sight setup that came on the PM9 but on the other hand the 3-dot night sight setup would match my Glock 19 which is my other pistol that I have a lot of rounds on.

Thoughts? Do you guys think its worth the $80?

I've always felt that night sights on a small pistol were kind of overrated. But 80 bucks is a heck of a good deal, all installed and everything.

I too am fine with the factory sights but if your on the fence now would be a good time to get them at that price.

They do seem to last a long time and in some cases can be relamped if it becomes necessary.

Thanks for the feedback Bawanna!

Forgot to add on to my initial question.... I think its $80 for either Meprolights or Trijicons, does anybody have any input on which is better?

I have no experience with Mepros, others here I'm sure do. Trijicon I'm pretty sure is one that will relamp the sight if the go dim. Wynn has had that done I believe more than once if I'm remembering right.

Trijicon will relamp them for you for $20 or so per lamp. In 10+ years, that is pretty nice. I like the white outline around the Trijicons better than the Meprolights. They are easier to see during the day. My $.02

I believe that both can last 12 to 14 yrs. I only have night sights on one firearm. On a firearm that is basically a point and shoot firearm, I don't see the need. If you take the time to line up those night sights, it will already be too late. I would much rather have them on my bedside gun. JMHO. I use XS Big Dots.

I put mepro's on my PM45, like them better than the trijicon on other pistols.

I've had both and like both. I did have one problem with the Mepros on my G22, the tritium leaked out of the front sight at some point. The last two sets I installed for myself were Trijicons on my G26 and G20. Got to agree with Alfonse on the white outline. I prefer the 3 dot setup over the bar-dot also.

Well I called back today and asked for Trijicons to be added to my pistol for the $80, overall I think I'll be happy with the result. The night sights on my Glock are Mepros but since they are so similar in look and function I figured I'd go with the type that can be "recharged" on my pm9. Thanks for the feedback fellas!

I have them on my PM9. I think the sight picture is far superior to the Bar-Dots.
