The phrase get the hell out of Dodge is one of those old sayings. Did catch on a show about Bat Masterson and it seems to me this is where the saying came from. It was a interesting show from my view. But maybe some of you can shed some light on the saying. Here’s one video on it and it’s long about an hour. I like to learn about the old west stories, but there is a lot of hearsay about the old stories. Does seem like Bat was one of the original Bad Asses of the west

I don't doubt that some old time lawman probably told a few folks to get out of Dodge, but I think that the phrase's use in more modern times is likely attributable to "Matt Dillon" on Gunsmoke. The "hell" part is probably a post "Gunsmoke" embellishment.
