OUCH: Fox Just Got MASSIVE Bad News… They’re Paying for All Those Trump Attacks

Fox News has been kicking ass and taking names (http://conservativetribune.com/fox-smacked-down-msnbc-again/) since its founding two decades ago, mostly because its reporting was some of the least tainted by mainstream news bias out there. Sure, there was some bias, but the content was still pretty reliable.
Then, early last summer, Donald Trump entered the race for president, and most of the people at Fox News seemed to lose their uplink to reality.
What followed was a nearly year-long orgy of establishment-inspired paranoia, accusing Trump of pretty much everything aside from killing John F. Kennedy.

Even as viewers protested over the anti-Trump hysteria coming out of the formerly “fair and balanced” network, Fox doubled down, saying that Trump had a “creepy obsession” with Megyn Kelly — an anchor who had essentially flat-out called him a bigot.
Where has that left the network? Well, less than a year later, CNN is beating Fox in the ratings in prime time.
http://conservativetribune.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/cnn-nielsen-470x114.jpg

“CNN ranked #1 in cable news in prime time in April. CNN beat Fox News for the fifth time in the last eight months in M-Su prime time (four of the past eight in M-F prime) among adults 25-54,” a statement (http://cnnpressroom.blogs.cnn.com/2016/04/26/cnn-1-in-cable-news-in-prime-time-beats-fox-news-for-5-of-the-past-8-months/) from CNN read.
“The last time CNN had this many prime time wins in an eight-month period versus Fox News was over 14 years ago (Nov. 2001).”
Yes, that’s right. A network that 8 out of 9 people stuck in airport lounges wish they weren’t watching actually beat out Fox News in prime time.
And keep in mind, that’s not the result of major changes at Ted Turner’s yawn-inspiring baby. CNN’s prime-time lineup still consists of Erin Burnett (who?), lachrymose silver fox Anderson Cooper and noted provocateur Don Lemon (http://conservativetribune.com/cnn-instantly-ends-segment/).
And also keep in mind, this wasn’t the result of any incipient lurch leftward. You’ll note that MSNBC was still mired in last place, fighting for ratings with amateur roller derby on public access.
One of the reasons behind this is that CNN, while far from being fair to Trump, has covered his campaign as an actual phenomenon. This is in contrast to Fox News, which has treated it like a disease-bearing mosquito that needs to be killed as efficiently as possible.
Sorry, Fox. Looks like your viewers are going elsewhere for “fair and balanced” news.

That doesn't suprize me at all. All of their talking heads bashed Trump and they failed to realize that most of the Trump supporters watched Fox. A lot of their talking heads are overrated anyway and think more highly of themself than they ought. I'll still watch Fox over any other network though.

This is not a Trump endorsement just a stated fact.

Me also. Shows how bad the others are. At least Fox does report what the others don't. I just want the news. I'll make up my own mind on the issues.

From my watching of Fox, I'd say Hannity has some kind of bromance with Trump and O'Reilly treated Trump fairly. Not sure if that counts as "prime time" but I will say they are about the only two that didn't bash him day in and day out.

That said, I'm not of the Trumpeteer crowd but he'll be getting my vote come Nov. I just hope I don't regret, but it has got to be better than not voting!

"Lachrymose"? Hell of a word that, Downtown. I like it. But, still not as good as my favorite, gifted by Shakespeare, "forsooth". "Forsooth" is perhaps the ideal all-purpose word. It is polite, cultured and not dismissive like the commonly used "whatever", another Swiss army knife word. I haven't found "forsooth" in a general use spellchecker yet.

Many of your posts are, forsooth, quite excellent, Downtown. All this education on a gun-nut forum. Who'd have thunk it? No wonder the libs are now going after not only the Second Amendment but also the First.

Fox ratings stayed the same. CNN was up a lot for that quarter. Anti-trumperies say it's because Fox kowtowed too much to Trump. Trumperies say it's because they bashed him too much.

I don't think anyone actually knows, but I think it's probably neither and has more to do with CNN attracting viewers than Fox turning them off

Count me as a now seldom Fox watcher especially during the Megyn Kelly hour. I felt her opening question to Trump during a Fox sponsored debate made her look like an ass. She lost me that night. I will say the same for Glenn Beck who is probably ready to commit suicide this morning rather than do his sagging radio show.
I am voting for anyone who is somewhat conservative and anti establishment. We have been getting jerked around by the assholes in DC for far too many years. Trump may not be able to change them but some may get the message and start to listening to what hard working Americans that are actually paying taxes really want for donating their money to run the country.

Trump for President.

Thanks fror posting this piece of news Downtown. I have been po'd at Fox for the position they had taken with Trump. The fair and balanced thing was tossed out the window! I've always liked Megyn Kelley but I heard her ask the infamous question to Donald. I was shocked! From my perspective it was quite an accusing attack as opposed to a reasonable debate question. Glad to see their ratings are taking a dump. I do hope however, that they get their stuff back together and learn from this. We need a "fair and balanced" news media. I guess that means O'reilly would have to clean up his act as well. ;-)

Megyn Kelly aside, Fox claiming to be "fair and balanced" will be nothing more than a joke as long as they continue to pay wack jobs like Geraldo Rivera for their "contributions".

Rarely watch Fox News, but that Megan Kelly is one fox I don't mind resting my eyeballs on.
