I am considering purchasing a CM 45. I can buy at Buds for $358 which seems to be a great deal. Any thoughts/reviews would be appreciated.

Thanks

A great pistol, a great deal. Spend another $60-$80 for the two mags that would have come with the PM45.... and you're still miles ahead in savings. Do a search in the forum for magazine deals. There are a few vendors that have consistent low pricing. I think Midwest Shooter's Supply just had a big Kahr mag sale... I'm sure other folks will add some other vendors to the list.

The frame, the fire control parts, the recoil system are all the same on the PM45 and CM45. The barrel has land/groove rifling, and from examples seen here, appears to still be a hammer forged barrel (not button). The slide is a little simpler, and I could personally care less about the lettering being one type or another. The sight up front is on two pins with a screw rather than dovetail. Its also polymer, but steel ones are available, aftermarket.

Its probably going to hiccup in the first few boxes, but shoot the strongest most powerful stuff you can find, and it will break in more quickly that way.

Forget "locking back the slide". Does nada. Forget hand cycling. Does nada. SHOOTING does the break in.

And shoot the fokker like you stole it!

I have a CW9 and it is flawless, love that gun. My CT380 was a pain in the arse to break in until I found the correct ammo for it. Do the larger calibers break in easier or is the 380 just finicky? I'm assuming by your statement I should run a few boxes of +p thru it?

Great Pistol! My CM45 is the only Kahr I purchased new. IIRC it took most of the 200 round break in to run 100%. My problem was a few failures to return to battery. I documented the first 200 rounds in a thread somewheres. There were really only a few. I attribute it some to me getting used to the gun, some to the gun loosening up and some to proper lubrication. A quick squirt of lube on the compressed recoil assembly helped. It took more rounds to really start feeling smooth but it is indeed smooth. It carries great. It's about the same size as my K40 but lighter and .45 cal. I carry mine in an OWB pancake holster and it's all-day comfortable. Conceals well even with only an untucked tshirt. I recommend it highly. You will enjoy it.

Mine had one stove pipe at about 300 rounds. The subsequent 350 or so have been trouble free. I shoot this gun best of all my semi-auto handguns. Great little 45!

I've got a CM45 with around 400 rounds through it. Not one problem during the break in. No failures to feed, light strikes...

I kinda like the conventional barrel, lets me shoot lead bullets, which I have, again with absolute reliability.

One "problem" if it is a problem. When I rack the slide and pull the trigger (gun empty), the trigger is smooth and quiet, but after that initial pull, everytime I pull the trigger on a uncocked slide, I get a click at the end of the trigger pull. Again, this has not affected the gun at all, but my p380 doesn't do it.

Get one, you will be happy and have a little money to spare!

Mine does the "click" also. Pull the empty magazine out and it doesn't do it. Looks like the magazine contacts the trigger link under the side plate.
