Feeling pretty good about a knife purchase I made about 15 years ago. I was on another forum where folks were discussing horn grips and that brought to mind a knife I have in my safe. It was made by a gent named Bill Burke. The purchase was made at Ed Fowler's table during a knife show in Costa Mesa, CA about 1999-2001.
It's an excellent knife, but I really haven't used it much. It's more a show and tell piece these days. As such, I hadn't really thought of it or Mr. Burke of late. Well, I broke the knife out today and decided to Google Bill. Turns out he is now an ABS Mastersmith: http://www.bladegallery.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=706 (http://www.bladegallery.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=706)
Pretty kewl beans, here's my Bill Burke knife, ram horn handle and all:)

Hey, thank you all for your comments :)

Eight inches overall, blade goes about three and three quarters. This a pattern that both he and Ed Fowler (his design) call "Pronghorn".

That's close to perfect size. I've found I'm partial to fixed blades in the 7 to 8" range. Handy, serious but not overkill.

Seems like most are just too big and intimidating. Intimidating is good in some instances but I'm a blend in kind of guy if that makes the least bit of sense.
