View Full Version : Is there such a thing as a sexy pistol?

If so, I would think it'd be kinda thin, long and lean with nice curves and a beautiful complexion. Giving the appearance of both beauty and confidence commanding a little admiration and respect perhaps. Functionally, she's be just as impressive and just hum along like a fine tuned instrument without needing a break or any interruptions.

Hey, sounds like I just described her to a T!

Any MK Kahr with wood grips is sexy. Also a wood-gripped PPK. Both sexy!

My dearly departed Sig P238 with Rosewood grips was a looker, IMO. I gave it up in a function over form trade for a PM9. That lil Sig was a purdy gun.

I am not sure what it is, but there's just something about stainless steel.

A fine looking T9!

Is there such a thing as a sexy pistol?

Oh yeah!
I like my Kahrs, but when I think "sexy" I think of my Sig P232SL with Nills.

... and sexier still is a sexy gun resting in a piece of quality gun leather. Ahhhh, baby... I love ya.;)

I do believe thusfar we all seem to have a similar interpretation of what one might call a "sexy looking pistol".

Can't wait to get my girlfriend's take on this.....she'll probably say, oh yeah, great, whatever...now you gonna buy me that jewelry now or what?

Anyway, nice Sig, my friend.

So... to continue the "German" theme...

It isn't mine, but I've always thought this pic, (credit to Ken Lunde), is a spectacular example of the sexiness of the Hk P7.

The clean lines and pefect ergonomic design makes the 85 year old Walther PP the sexiest Grandpa IMHO.

Ah, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
The "King of Nines" is my most sexy pistol, great looks and feel:

There are many sexy pistols in the world. Some are sexy because of the history attached to them, some are just good looking.

Beauty certainly is in the eyes of the beholder. Firearms that don't get used just don't appeal to me, as aesthetically pleasing as they may be.

As long as the weapon earns it's nicks, dings, notches, and scratches honestly, then it is sexy. The better it shoots the sexier it gets. If it feels like a long lost friend when you pick it up, then it's sexy.

A trio of sexy. In thine own eyes of course.
I've never been able to stay true to just one gun. I usually have one that is my always near but a brothel of others to play with. I'm a bad boy.

The left hand Randall and the Hi Power with the floor plate on backwards are not mine. Made the handles for them. Another Hi Power is searching for me as we speak.
The Para is with me near always and has been for quite awhile.

That Para certainly has seen some use.

I'll admit my Hi-Power only has about 500 rounds through it by me (though used, it is still fairly new to me), but my Springer has seen a considerable amount of rounds downrange; it's sporting a fairly fresh DIY parkerizing job in that photo.
My really high round count 1911 (it was my buddy's competition gun) sees some cold blue now and again; I guess it's got a look to it:

Thanks much, I can't take credit for God's work, that was a beautiful piece of wood, the other side looks even better. And of course the perfection of John Moses would look good with particle board grips, you just gotta love a Hi Power.

Yes, it is a beautiful piece of wood, but you have the skills to set it off.
BTW, I just noticed the motivational picture in the background of the Hi-Power photo; certainly should help you assess the curvy grain in your wood.:)

I was in the gun business about 35 years ago I bought a local mans Luger collection of 12 original all matching numbers. Back then I thought it was alot of money to pay for those gun and I kept them for about 5 years and then slowly parted them out one at a time. Made good money on all of them, but oh my what a dumbshit I was to sell them. They are truly the most beautiful gun ever mad eIMO. Not the finest shooter or also not the most reliable 9mm either but oh my like a great ol 1911, just super to look at.

Super nice photo by the way. Just rekindled old dreams for me. They were not near as collectable back 35 or 40 years ago. Just more of a war relic/trophy..

+1 what a dumbshit you was. I think they call this 20/20 hindsight. 12 unmessed with Lugers at one time! I can't imagine, it's like giving me a billion dollars, I can't comprehend how much that is other than a bunch.

sittin down. One even had a matching number butt stock and artillery sights on it. I may be old but I can still remember when I screwed up big time

20-20 is indeed fitting for ol jocko on this one..:israel:

also in those days acquired one Mauser broom handle with matching wood stock. Now that was a super nice peace. I think back then I traded that gun for a new Poulan chain saw, or maybe that was what I traded my Harley 125 Hummer for back then...Humm..

I'm always sitting down, 1 of only 2 options, that or flat.

BUT I feel like I got hit in the belly button with a cannon ball. Matching # buttstock with artillery sights.:7::eek: In your place I'd seek out the men in black and have them erase your memory. Wish you hadn't told me this, now I gotta remember this sh!t too. Bet the guys that bought em are still smilin.
I love Poulan Chain saws, put em right up there with KelTecs. (my bad, I'm bashing again. Still got that Harley though, that might be something.

That's a beautiful gun... manly, yes... but, look at the design compared with our Kahrs. The centerline axis of the bore is much closer to the top of the anchor point or grip with a Kahr, mitigating recoil. This pistol places that high above the corresponding point and gives you a slick rounded grip at that point, facilitating rotation during recoil and indeed, giving mechanical advantage to the rotational recoil in the plane that the pistol occupies. This is clearly looks over practical and functional design.
Yeah, I know. Some people like the recoil, but that's a terribly old design for the old western look rather than efficient shooting.
I still think it's a beautiful gun, though. I just wouldn't want to shoot it... more than once.:D
JMHO.

I wouldn't want to shoot it more than a couple hundred times a day.

I got a Blackhawk 44 with the 10 1/2" barrel and people assume from the length that its a hand cannon. Got a 7 1/2'' too and don't get the same oooh and awwww.

Like to get a 460 Smith some day just to say I got one. Could shoot 45 colt when I'm not feeling like Mighty Mouse.

That's a shame, because it couldn't be further from the truth. Old west style revolvers rotate in your hand, allowing the recoil to feel nowhere near as brutal as a modern D/A revolver, and allowing the hammer to be right where your thumb is at the end of the recoil impulse.

They are indeed along with a few of the other classics. I've not seen one in person as yet but kind of hope too. Hope the new ones are half as good as the old ones and half as pretty as that one. I'm a sucker for stag grips too, just turn this wood guy to mush.

I guess that could be the case. It just doesn't seem like a good thing to me -- having the gun rotate like that, but my experience with center-fire revolvers was limited to Dan Wesson, Rugers, and Smith & Wessons... the largest being a S&W 629 with a 6" barrel and target grips.

You can take a modern D/A revolver loaded in a monster caliber that's brutal on the hands, put it in a old west S/A style gun and it's a baby to shoot.

Heck, my budd's Ruger Vanquero .357 mag recoils like a .22 due to that rolling motion in your hand. It's amazing how little recoil you feel with that big fireball :D

The plow handles are great for heavy recoiling guns. Where most run into trouble is fighting the roll and trying stop it. The Birdshead grips that I love immensely work quite well the same way. Mine so far are all 45 Colt but even with short barrels they are fun to shoot.

Damn I love that Schofield!

There are some real gorgeous guns in here. Real works of art.

But I've always been partial to the antique stuff. Like real antique.

I've already mentioned (and posted pictures of) my 1862 Springfield Armory 58 caliber Civil War rifle. However since I'm not a good photographer it would be embarrassing to repost those pictures in this particular thread.

But someday I'd like to get one of the old flintlock pistols as well. Something like in the following photo. Yes, the model is pretty too, but so is the gun.

That depends on the carrier, I have a full size 1911 on two reloads (8 rounders), a Gerber Icon with a 4.25 inch blade, a 3 blade stockman knife, a multi tool, pocket knife sharpener, two extra pens, my keys, my spare keys, 3 different flash lights, a magnesium stick, billfold, two cell phones, and my lock picks, a thermostat screwdriver, a 6 inch crescent wrench...
