My CT380 doesn't like Perfecta ammo

I went to the range today with my nephew and my great niece. I put about 100 rounds through my new 10/22 and then I broke out the pistols. I just got a couple of new carry guns and wanted to finish breaking them in. I recently acquired a CT380 and a Remington RM380. I loaded up the 2 CT380 mags with Perfecta 95 gr. fmj. I had previously put 150 rounds of assorted fmj and 25 rounds of American Gunner XTP jhp through it with no problems. To my surprise I had a failure to feed almost every round. I switched to Sig Sauer 95gr. fmj and it fed 100%. I then sent 25 rounds of Freedom Ammunition XTP hollow points downrange with no problems. The RM380 gobbled up the Perfecta.

Yep. It's pretty well documented in this forum that Kahr .380s usually don't like Perfecta. Glad the others run fine. Enjoy!

Tell me about the shooting experience of that RM380, recoil, etc.... I just bought one for the wife and can't shoot it until next week. Wife is excited to get it.

Glad the RM380 liked it. Our CT380 runs Perfecta just fine. Does it say on the box where it is made? IIRC, someone said they saw Prefecta made in Slovakia or some other Eastern Block country instead of in Italy.

yqtszhj, the RM380 is a very soft shooting little 380. It is just slightly bigger than an LCP or TCP but feels larger in the hand. I now have about 300 rounds of assorted fmj and jhp ammo through it without a hiccup. Your wife will also appreciate how easy it is to rack the slide on the RM380. I was having trouble deciding between the CT380 and the RM380 so I got them both.

It's been posted that Fiocchi is involved with the production of Perfecta. If that's true, the feeding issue is probably related to rim thickness.

Thanks. Racking the slide has always been the hardest for her and the rm380 is like butter. She racks the glock 19 she claimed and her beretta nano ok but they are both bigger and "too heavy". The RM380 fits the bill.

My CW40 didn't like perfecta ammo either... Monarch ammo being sold in Academy is made by PPU (Prvi Partizan) which is out of Serbia which alos supplies the Serbian army/police as well as civilian sporting ammo... it's good stuff, reliable however a little sooty..

In the first range session, my CT380 shot all of this with no failures at all..... EXCEPT the WWB. All click, no bang! Tried to run 3 mags full of the WWB, but not one primer was even dimpled. Ran several mags of Remington to follow up and it ate 'em all just fine. Most likely a bad batch of WWB, or improperly seated primers.
