Hello -

Purchased 2nd Kahr - have CM .380 and love it so much I just purchased the PM9. Love the weapons, hate the mags (love the Glock clean lines with the mag extension options)

-Who has the cleanest custom fit for mag extensions for my Kahrs?
-Would anyone share pics of theirs?
-Has anyone done a custom mod of available extensions for cleaner look?

Here is a pic of the 'cleanest' mod I have found, but not sure how it was done...

MANY thanks!

Welcome to the forum!
That's a combination of a modified A&G extender and a modified Pearce Mag extender. Here's a thread about it: http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.p...-Extension-PM9 (http://www.kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?3243-Modified-A-amp-G-Grip-Extension-PM9)

I've stayed with my Kahr mags because they work.

I have some extension sleeves for the longer mags. My experience is that a "gap" is needed to ensure the mags properly engage the pistol. Even with just the Kahrs I have in my collection, there is quite a variation in what size gap is needed for the pistols seem to reliably engage the mags. Soooo, I did not attempt to "correct" the gap on Lakeline's parts. The headaches from people calling about their mags not engaging or that they can still see a gap are not what I need in life.

I do have some polymer pistols, like the XDs and even the Taurus PT111 G2 that do not have a gap like the Kahrs do. But, they do have over travel available to their mags to make sure they engage. In fact, the Taurus mags fit quite loosely. The bottom of the frame is designed differently to make the mags blend in visually better.

I look at it this way, Kahrs are focused concealed carry tools. They have nothing added that isn't focused on their purpose. An analogy would be an A.C. Cobra was a single purpose race/sports car. Compare it to other vehicles of the day that had things like rollup windows, heaters, cushy seats, etc. and a person could find lots of things to ***** about. But, nothing came close to doing what the Cobra did as well as it did because it had no superfluous fluff that wasn't focused on making it go fast.

The metal magazine plates on the bottoms of the PM/CM/etc. magazines are about as minimal as can be made, keeping the dimensions of the pistol to where it can fit in a pocket. To me that is the ultimate.

I am working on CW/P 380 mag stuff right now and think there is some opportunities to utilize some space that the factory follower doesn't, but that is a different story.

Here's the best solution I've found to date and simple to do: just a Pearce ext ground down to my liking.

B4, that is nice, and easy to do. It can be fit to your own pistol so you are happy with the way it latches and any gap that is left.
