Loving my new to me 1995 Sig P229 357, I've decided to do something funny with my Hk P30.

Well 250 FMJs and 50 Underwood GDHPs.
1 FTF FMJ, 1 FTF Underwood GDHP and POI appears to be low compared to 40 S&W.
Verdict? Range Toy = YES, Carry Barrel = NO.
I'm a little disappointed.
But I noticed when I ordered the Meps for my Sig P229 they have different front sight heights for 357 Sig vs 40 S&W.
I'll stick with my Classic factory 1995 P229 357 for carry.
Also the Underwood definitely has more recoil than standard LE rounds.
I'm going to go all Secret Service and run the P229 357 with Speer GDHPs:cool:.
That is all...

I swapped pistols with a guy at a forestry range some time back that had a p30 9mm but a full size . Mag release is unique along with trigger but a nice pistol for sure and accurate , nice pistol .
Used ?? Looks like a brand new pistol . Wonder if a new spring kit will improve function or if the striker channel gummed up ? Used handgun can be interesting at times .
Underwood is snappy ammo and most times runs a bit faster than advertised .

The pistol is mine, bought NIB, it has about 2,500 rounds down the pipe.
I keep my guns in like new condition.:D
I'm sure the malfunctions are barrel related.
Maybe more rounds to break it in would resolve the issues with it?
The gun is bombproof all factory stock in 40 S&W.
I should know better having a box of factory and third party barrels for various guns.
Oh well, the barrel was cheap and it was worth a shot - LOL!
I've got twin factory Hk P2000 357s and a P2000SK 40 with an OEM 357 Sig barrel that run like tops!;)
Honestly though, when it comes to 357 Sig?
Not surprisingly, the Sig P229 357 is far and away my fav:cool:

I'm thinking the after market barrel is just a range toy.
For carrying 357 Sig?
I'll stick with a gun designed from the factory for it - LOL!
