I took my new CM9 out to the range tonight for the first time. Ran through 125 rounds without a hitch. Wasn't sure what to expect from this little gun, but it shot very well. Feels very solid in the hand, even with my pinky hanging under the grip, I didn't notice that when shooting. The recoil was like most other 9's I've fired, I figured it would kick harder given its small size, but it wasn't an issue at all. Accuracy was very good, sights seem to be set right out of the box. It is more accurate than I am, but I managed some respectable groups. The trigger was great, very smooth and easy until it went bang.

One thing I noticed after about 75 rounds or so, I had some skin peeling off of the inside of the back knuckle of my right thumb. I wasn't sure what that was about, I could tell it wasn't the slide doing it, more like the polymer underneath was rubbing on it during recoil. Maybe my grip needs to be tighter or something, will see if it happens again next time.

All in all, very pleased with this little gun. Will give it some more range time and I think I'll have myself a good carry gun.

The bike inner tube on the grip trick works great to smooth them out a bit. Great little guns, for sure! Thanks for the report.

I like the Pachmayr grip sleeve myself. You know what the doctor would say..........................move your thumb.

When I rented a CM9, I noticed that joint got sore, also. It's one of the main reasons I went with the CW9, it didn't do that.

Went with Talon grips on mine. Really solved the problem. Very comfortable.

I think I described it wrong in my first post, it wasn't the inside of my thumb knuckle but the outside on the top. Where the hand rests up under the beavertail, even though I don't know that it is called a beavertail in this case.

I went with the inner tube solution on the grip before I shot it, which actually worked really well.

Its not just you. Mine does the same thing to my thumb.
