Don't let jocko read this thread, I'll be in trouble! J/K, no really, It looks like it's been swimming in the Gulf of Mexico! (not too funny actually)
But it's totally covered in oil within the plastic bag, not unlike you guys said it would be. Anyway, I'm all stoked like a little kid right now.
As some know, I was looking to complete my collection by trying to find a T9, but last night, after much thought and consideration, I decided on the CZ 75 B Stainless!

the CZ is one super handgun, to big for pocket carry and heavy to boot compared tothe P9 but IMO both were to big for pocket carry. You will love that P9, probalbly not alot of need for a T9 now that you got the CZ. The CZ is a darn nice gun, never read any real negatives about it either..

Yeah, I don't think that CZ 75 would make a good carry gun but like you, I've heard from several people it is a world class accurate reliable range gun, so mabe I'll challenge myself.
Yep, couldn't be happier with my new P9 in hand right now. Thanks again for all your wisdom jocko as I feel prepared to treat it right.

see CZ's at all around my area. Even out gander mt in terre haute doesnt sotck them, almost have to go to the Indy 1500 gun show to find them. I know of no one around here who owns one either. Would love to put some rounds through one though. They just eak in quality and looks to. I would think the CZ will be a more shootable/accurate gun to shoot over the P9. U can let us know that to.

Absolutely. I have range reports to follow. Ordered the CZ today from Buds so probably will get it 8-16-10
But can't wait to shoot the P9 and report back. :)
Who knows? Mabe I'll be shooting the CZ like this guy soon.

Can't remember the last time I oiled my KAHR P9.. Wait, I don't think I ever have and I've had it a long time. Still haven't cleaned it yet either! :D
And yes, I shoot it.

Nice choice. I have a CZ 75 p01 and cannot be more pleased but I'm not parting with my P9 . The price of these CZs is right too. Don't brag about them, the price will go up. Here I go, getting in trouble again. :)
Try some Remoil. It's a damn good lubricant that will not attract too much dirt and it won't stain your clothing.
My wife (boss) and I took a weekend trip to Pensacola beach last week and we did see any oil or tar on the beach. We stayed at the new Margaritaville hotel. It was excellent. They have a beach bar there outside the hotel and we sat there drinking margaritas. I tried not to look at the pretty senoritas but I failed. Too bad the news scared off alot of people. Sorry, no oil for your guns there.

I'm glad to hear the panhandle is unaffected by the disaster. Actually, I'm gonna use the Mil-Comm TB25 grease on the rails and barrel as recommended by our fellow members. But, yeah, awesome, looking forward to the CZ 75B arrival. :)

RogerP9fan,
Your mention of TW25 got me interested so I looked up the specs. They seem VERY close to those of Thixogrease. I think I'll buy some and do a physical comparison.
I know for a fact that Thixogrease is excellent. Lubrication, washout, temperature range and corrosion preventative properties of this grease are excellent. I user it on the MG42 as well but it gets cleaned after each use. (I get surplus grease for free).
The ONLY gripe I have about grease and most oils is that they are dirt magnets. The dirt gets into the lubricant and then you have grinding compound on parts that slide. Of course there are places on a firearm where you do not want any collection of crud at all.
I hope this does not provoke an endless debate. Oh, well.

Hey Jim,
I was told to lightly POLISH the guide rails, outside of the barrel, guide rod and slide stop with the TW25b. During the racking of the slide multiple times, eehhhhhh, I think I feel it loosening up a little in prep for my first range trip. I emphasize polish for the good points you raised above regarding the accumulation of crud.

Roger, Roger.
I'll have to try this stuff out. Mom said I should always try new things. ;)

It is super stuff, try the syringe applicator, one can run a small line of lube right down the slide grooves with ease and no mess. I would advice buying at least 2 or 3 syringes with TW25 in it to cover the cost of postage. It won't run in your pocket either, stays put..A little goes a long way
definitely listen to mama!

to much grease or oil is probably more detrimental than not much at all. Most all guns will run a half dozen magazines completley DRY., and probably alot more to. Glocks will certainly run dry for a long time. I just never tested my kahrs that way. Maybe somebody on this forum would like to run a 100 rounds dry out of their polymer kahr and give us a report back. At best the gun will maybe malfunction but it will not harm the gun and my bet is that it will shoot a 100 rounds with ease DRY. Lots of LEO's carry that way.
I have no doubts my PM9 will do that with ease, for it is as smooth as glass now

I got hold of some TW25b and I saw no advantage to it for pistol application in spite of the high price. I know I'm gonna get blasted for this but I use what works and what's cheap.
The qualities I look for in a firearms lubricant are: lubricity, corrosion protection, operating temp range, non staining, not attracting crud, and low price. It must also flow in between springs and pins without "creeping" Remoil fits those requirements and is available at wallyworld.
A pistol is not a highly loaded machine that we need a "space shuttle" grease. A good cleaning has better advantages than the best lubricant.
We use TFL-50 wet lube (Remoil) on the vibration absorbers atop the main rotors of our helos. That's the toughest environment for any lube. It works great. saves us a bunch of $$. Overkill for a pistol.
I remember back in '86, Barrancabermeja, Colombia. There was some guy outside my hotel hawking potions made from Iguanas, snakes and other reptiles. Yes kids, a real live snake oil salesman. Most people backed away in horror but a few actually bought that stuff. Watch out for that sales pitch. Some folks are good at it.
Regards to everyone, Jim K
PS: Don't run your firearm without lube unless it's not yours.

lots of good lubes out there, one should use what he feels does the best for him. Nothing wrong with Remoil, I use it alot on my lawn mower wheels.
