I just picked up a new cm9 and took it apart for a cleaning. Going back together, I got the slide stuck almost far enough to put the takedown pin in. It wouldn't go on anymore or come back off. I wiggled and jiggled it for a while and it came off. Just wondering what the crap happened. It's not my first kahr and I'm pretty used to cleaning them. I am currently doing the prep before shooting it next week.

Open end of recoil spring got caught between muzzle end of barrel and frame?
I have found that if you try to pull the slide back to the point the notches line up, the barrel can assume an incorrect position in relation to the frame, and... you'll have the cam in the wrong position, requiring another trigger pull.
The method I use is as follows: After you got the top end on the frame, pull the slide back only a quarter inch or so, so that you can start the slide stop in into the kidney shaped cut out in the barrel (through the frame of course). If you do that, then the barrel will remain in the correct position, and you can pull the slide the rest of the way back, and get the slide stop fully seated.
Just my 2c worth

Good to know. Thank you. I never had this problem with my cw40.

Also, don't center the recoil spring on the lug, it's off center and the spring needs to be centered so visually align it with the barrel before reassembly.

I've got it down now. I put 50 rounds through it today. My first round fired and failed to fully eject. I cleared the jam and continued to fire the rest of the box of federal champion trouble free. Not sure why it happened but glad i didnt keep happening.
