View Full Version : **HELP!** Re-assembly error with PM9 **Please Help**

Was cleaning my PM9 and lubing the slide. Before I could stop myself, I slid the slide on to distribute the rail grease... so on it goes without the barrel, recoil spring and guide rod assembly and I slid it all the way back. Now it will not slide forward off the rails for assembly. Somewhere, it engages a portion of the striker, block and/or spring -- because the slide stops returning forward, catches on something, then goes forward only as far as the striker spring will let it (quasi-recoil-spring-like, without the recoil spring). But that's all it will travel forward.
Help!!! I remember reading something similar happened here a while back, but can't remember the solution at all. Help! I'm sorry for the brain-fart moment.

Push the slide forward until the back of it is even with the frame and keep pressure on it at that position. Pull the trigger, the slide should come off.

Done. Holding it against the spring pressure is the key. Holy smokes. Thank you. I wanted to enter a BUG Gun shoot tomorrow and was afraid I'd have to use a substitute. Thank you very much.

I did that before and was able to release the slide by pulling the trigger several times and nudging it forward.
If that does not work, you can always take the back plate out and remove the striker, right? Just remember that it's not like on Glock, although looks exactly like it. The little hole on the right is the key, you press into it with a punch and drive the plate down (on a Glock, you have to use a flat screwdriver to drive the striker sleeve forward through the slot where sear slides).
