Well, this site has saved me a bit of searching for answers. I have been doing a lot of dry fire exercises with the 380. Today instead of the usual metallic snap when I pulled the trigger I got a dull thunk. I kept going and it would sound good sometimes and then clunk for several shots. When I was done I stripped down the slide and found what I expected from reading the posts here. I have a new lakeline striker on order. I'm glad it happened now. I'll give the new striker a good workout with plenty of dryfire when it comes. Thanks to all of you that post here. Time to start carrying the PM9.

It won't be long, as your part is on its way. Thanks!

Wow, shipping within a couple of hours. It doesn't get any better than that. I did just try to put you out of business though. I just wrote to Kahr and ask them why they haven't done a redesign on the striker since they are such a common failure. Now that I brought it to their attention I am sure they will jump right on it.

I bought a Lakeline striker for my CW380. After working in machining the last 20 yrs, I've got to say that is a nice piece of work. I feel much better carrying, knowing it's in my pistol. Thanks Alphonse. Now about those recoil springs.

Kahr 380 stuff is all over my desk. Working with some great spring experts too...

The Lakeline striker addresses more than just the breakage issue. IMO, they'd be better off hooking up with Alphonse than jumping right on it themselves.

LOL, thanks Greg. I'm thinking several, or all, gun manufacturers would be best off consulting with you!

My Lakeline striker evidently arrived Saturday because it was in the mail box when I got home today. Ordered Thursday, received on Saturday. Dropped right in like the original part. Now I just have to go to the range and give it a test fire.
I got a reply to my e-mail from Kahr. They offered a striker or repair if I sent them the slide. The say the broken striker is very rare and their pistols are perfect. Mine is now.

Yes service is great from Lakeline. Broken strikers rare? ha ha... I broke 4 and they replaced the slide twice and barrel once....then i went LAKELINE!... oh, and once on a cw380 b4 i traded it. jay is great to deal with though.

What are the typical round counts before striker breakage?
I might need to upgrade my striker.

There are no typical numbers. You should upgrade it now, then you will never have to worry about it again.

I don't count my dry fires, so can't say.

I received my Ultimate Striker from Lakeline, today, and just installed it a few minutes ago. Very nice work! Never broke an OEM striker on my CW380, but don't want to when I most need it, either.
