I have a K9 Elite 03 which I recently purchased new. When I CCW I use Gold Dot 124gr. +P JHP. The owners manual does not specifically say not to use +P; the only verbiage in the owners manual I can find referencing ammo says:

"No liability whatsoever can be accepted if the pistol is fired with any ammunition other than top-quality commercially manufactured ammunition of the proper caliber specified on the firearm itself. Inexpertly manufactured or reloaded ammunition must not be used."

As far as I know, polymer Kahr's are rated for +P, so I would have to assume that all-steel models would be as well. I also carry Gold Dot 230gr. +P JHP in my CW45.

Others more knowledgeable than I may want to chime in here, but I believe you are OK using +P in your K9. That being said, I wouldn't use it as a steady diet, as most manufacturers say in their manuals that prolonged use of +P ammo may cause increased wear and tear over time. Also, I would never use +P+, as there is no standard that they are loaded to, so you don't really kow what you are getting.

Your 1996 might not be. I'm pretty sure it has a carbon steel slide and frame and I don't recall that they were +P rated. Can you check its manual? But the other one is stainless and it's OK IIRC.

I thought they were all +P rated but at the moment I can't find anything to back that up with and I surly (please don't call me Shirley) don't want you to shoot it based on my memory or lack there of.

It seems if polymer is safe, steel especially Kahr steel would be ok with it.

I'll continue to seek evidence.

Thanks I have 115 JHP and was hoping a midrange 124 gr would give good results but at $22.00 bucks for 20 didn't want to buy test rounds more than needed.

OK boys and girls I have it directly from very high up in the Kahr food chain and an extremely reliable resource that ALL Kahrs are +P rated.
Exact words were he'll have no trouble with that stuff. So in summary. Go for it!

The K9 is +P rated and has been from the beginning, in fact the earliest K9s were advertised as +P+ per the manual.
