Academy's plan at this point is to abuse Charter's overly generous warranty promises. Can't say nobody saw that one coming.

Beeeezar...
Academy has just gone weird on the world.
Oh this is so much BS I can't stand it.
First - I get the very dubious feeling reading the "Academy Recall". You have to contact Academy, not the manufacturer. No Academy near you? Well just call Academy Customer service. Everything through Academy.
Second - Why just the Pink Lady and Lavender Lady? All of the Undercover Lite revolvers are made the same except for color. You got Chic Lady, Pink Chic Lady, Lavender Chic Lady, Red White and Black, plain silver, plain black, red white and blue, etc etc.... All the same, just colors are different. Why just two? Can't say, except it sounds weird.
Third - Never once does it say contact Charter. No mention at all.
Forth - Charter is unaware. I've spoken to Dee and Nick at Charter (owners). Not about this, but about other things. They seem like pretty straight up, unpretentious, and salt of the earth kind of folks. If someone says Charter is unaware, I believe Charter.
Fifth - A retailer is going out of their way for a manufacturer. Its not like Charter "dealers" have any dealership agreements. They buy from jobbers, or possibly direct from Charter. That just doesn't make sense.
Ok then, possible scenarios.
No recall at all. Academy is pissed at Charter for some reason.
Academy got caught with their pants down by perhaps.... coloring guns that came in silver.
Academy is doing a promotional stunt.
Academy is run by a bunch of dipsydoodle lawyers and is doing a Chicken Little "sky is falling!" routine.
Academy saw one or two issues, and is "sending in the Marines", panic mode, and plans to recoup expenses by taking Charter to court....
Academy just got bought by the Clinton Foundation.... hell, weirder things have gone down!
If folks had problems, the recourse would be to contact Charter. I can see Academy doing that for its customers, as a service. But to issue a bogus "recall" is out of their jurisdiction.
Somethin' ain't right.

+1 on the somethin ain't right, CJB. I got a bad taste in my mouth concerning Academy since they hid the rifles in the back. Something rotten in Denmark.

Maybe it has something to do with armed women?

Ha! Not going there!
I heard that the cops at the Louvre museum in Paris frisked Venus but she wasn't armed

Heres a theory,
Some lady left her pink gun out and her daughter thought it was a toy and shot her brother. Now Academy takes back the only colored guns they sell, strip the finish, and return them back as "silver" guns.
Watch and see......

CJB please provide proof of Academies ownership by the Clinton Foundation. I call BS on that one. Charter Arms has had quality problems in the past. IMHO they are firearms only for the ignorant and uneducated.
LZ, please go back and actually READ the post..... jeeze

After rereading it a second time I now know I have been dumbed down by that blather of nonsense. Like most of your postings.

Sometimes perhaps especially now in these trying times nonsense is good for the soul.
Generally beats out reality by far in my feeble and humble opinion.
For the dumbed down, and those under the 50th percentile, the key word in my contested post is POSSIBLE.
So take a deep breath. Take the chip off your shoulder yourself too. Then chill.

I was at Academy Sports at lunchtime. I was looking for ARX Polycase ammo. That store never fails to disappoint. Talked to the sales guys in the firearms department. We talked about how AS totally pussied out with the Orlando shooting. He said the "boycott" was hurting their sales. Now with this Charter Arms "recall", I'll shop elsewhere entirely.

My brother's SIL was Arthur Gochman's mistress for several years. He was almost 20 years her senior before he passed at age 79 a few years back. Although she was (and is) financially well off in her own right, Arthur had given her a fancy new Jaguar to run around Houston in. The family asked her to return it after his funeral.
Brother never got a discount at an Academy store.
