I've been playing with the .380 magazines for awhile now, with various spring and follower combinations. Here is a photo of a printed aluminum follower prototype, a P3AT & LCP sized spring and Kahr base and magazine tube:

With that setup, I get better retention of the top round, slide lock functions beautifully and I can slowly slingshot the pistol.

I do like how the spring that is smaller inside the magazine tube works out.

I can get an extra round (like using an LCP follower), but not without losing some of the other functionality.

I'm not convinced that a product will come out of this, but it has been fun to play with. 380s don't seem to break followers. My gun eats anything that can get under the extractor, so I can't really tell if ammo pickiness might be improved. There is already an option for an additional round, although it seems to be a bit more complex than it needs to be. So, I'm not seeing a big opportunity here, but thought I would share anyway.

Interesting...

I'd like the improved top-round retention, but wouldn't give up any functionality to get it. As for the extra round, same thing -- no trade off in functionality would be acceptable. But the improved top-round retention would very helpful for my 2nd magazine (which gives me the extra rounds).

See my post about my CW380 in that forum, as I added your upgrades to it. Well done on those!

Could you make a nice looking base catch to replace the gosh-awful Philips head screw that Magguts uses? I love the Magguts from a functional standpoint, but that screw drives me crazy. :)

I know I speak for many when I say thank you for all of your work on creating upgrades for our Kahr pistols.

Thanks for the kind words! I have fun with this stuff, and love Kahrs.
