I am considering getting a CM9 as a CCW and have a question about how the trigger operates.
I understand the CM9 has a firing pin block. Has anyone ever heard of a Kahr pistol firing a round without the trigger being pulled? I suppose the only way this could happen is if the FPB did not return to the correct position and the striker slipped off the sear (or whatever holds the striker back on a Kahr)
I am not familiar with the operation of the Kahr trigger. Is the striker cocked back far enough that it would fire a round if some how the striker went forward without pulling the trigger?
I like the idea of the longer trigger pull but just trying to understand how safe the Kahr trigger is?
I carry PM 45 and PM 9 in my front jeans pocket. No holster. Long rather heavy pull makes it safe, unlike others.

Look at the inset in this link, https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/trigger-recall-kahr-setting-mark-dao-pistol-triggers/
No way to fire unless trigger is pulled.

An unusual combination of things would have to happen for the Kahr to fire without pulling a long, medium weight trigger. There is virtually no spring tension against the striker until the trigger pulls it back. In addition there is a striker block that has to be lifted (it is spring loaded) to allow the striker to move forward. The block is lifted just before the trigger releases the striker. So, you would have to drop it in such a way and from a height that it would reach terminal velocity to even consider there was any possibility of the gun firing without pulling the trigger. The force required to drive the striker forward is 90 degrees from the force that would be required to drive the striker block up. I would worry more about the gun hitting me if dropped from such a height to over come the springs than I would about the gun going off.

Let me first say, that I would never tell anyone to carry a firearm without a holster. IMHO, even with the long trigger pull, if you were to carry a Kahr in your pocket, along with something else, say a pocket knife. Or maybe a pencil, or comb, or loose change, if something could get in to the trigger area, and you were to move, or bend over, etc., It could possibly push the trigger in a rearward direction, causing the firearm to go off. What would the odds be, of this happening? Probably higher than me hitting the bullseye at 25 yds. But it could happen. I've been pocket carrying my Kahr for a while, and I have bent, sat, stooped, fell down, rolled over, ran, mowed lawn, etc., and it has never gone off. But I ALWAYS use a holster. Just me..........:):) Otherwise, their trigger's are one of a kind. I swear, a baby/young child could pull the trigger on my MK(no kids in the house)Long, but the easiest and smoothest I've ever felt in a smaller firearm. People that I allow to look at my firearm are amazed, not having handled any Kahr pistols, at how easy the trigger actually is. Most likely, the only time it's going to go off, is if you purchase one, and pull the trigger.
