The other day I was out at the range with my CM40 I was using 165gr fmjfp and had gone thru about 30 rounds and just reloaded the magazines and when I pulled the trigger on the first round the slide lifted partway off the frame and jammed partly open and the side plate in the grip was blown part way open.
Anyway when the gunsmith at the range got the gun apart the brass in the chamber was split and and the barrel itself was cracked on the underside the full length he said by the looks of it the bullet was overcharged, this was brand new factory ammo, I have never used reloads in any of my guns.
That night I emailed Kahrs tech support and included pics of the gun and the barrel and shell casing, the next morning when I got up ( on the west coast) there was an email reply from Kahr apologizing for the inconvenience and a FedEx shipping label. I just want to say that so far I consider this some of the best customer service I have ever had. I felt I should post something positive about the service.
I also called the ammo manufacturer and am waiting to hear back from them with an incident number and instructions on shipping the balance of the ammo back to them.
