A fella on another forum that I hang out on without my knowledge did a charcoal picture of me. I think he got most of it from a National Night Out picture that was posted at some time.
He did ask for a picture of my department patch and at that point I knew he was up to something.
He's done pictures of a few other people and he has remarkable talent.
How he can draw somebody and make it look just like em makes me very envious.
I draw a horse and it looks like a rino or hippo.
Anyhow, here it is. Thought it was worth sharing his remarkable talent.
Several mentioned who they thought I looked like and they were all the same guy. I never made the connection before but apparently there's a resemblance.

It's a knife forum hence the khukri in hand.

A. Remarkable talent is self evidenced, and lucky for you his artistic license has not expired.
B. I usually draw a pistol, fits my front pocket better than a horse
C. A Khukri.... is that because you've been feeling Sikh lately?
Nice mug!

I think that was the basis for this drawing. That would have been a cool drawing just like that picture.
I'm rather fond of this one too. He's good at slipping in subtle details.

That's awesome. I have a friend who is an artist who prefers to work with charcoal. He's done several portraits of me and my family. They're really special pieces.
This is really nice. I like how he placed the badge and you shooting in the background.
And you're right, you do have a striking resemblance to Geraldo Rivera. :behindsofa:
:)
Just kidding! Who do people think you look like? I kind of see an older Gerald McRaney (Major Dad), but with that downturned mustache, it's gotta be Wilford Brimley.

And just where have you been? Everything ok? All good? Stop lurking and jabber like the rest of us will ya. Get's slow and boring around here.
Son is now in Kuwait for a couple weeks. Learning helicopter stuff, not sure what all, mostly getting on and getting off I guess. Says the living situation isn't as nice the schedule is more lax, more down time. Kind of like a vacation he said.
He's anxious to get back stateside. Guess he's less than 100 days from rotation if things go on schedule which we've found they seldom do.

To make a long story short, I had problems with my pass word and "very" shortly afterwords I was diagnosed with cubital syndrome in both elbows. My body is wearing out. Essentially, the condition is trapped ulnar (funny bone) nerves, and while the condition lasts you aren't suppose to keep your elbows bent for more than 5 or 10 seconds at a time….AND you aren't allowed to do any activities that require fine motor control, i.e. typing.
I should have had somebodies phone number to let people know what was going on, but I was remiss.
The surgery is only %50 successful, but (thank the Lord) I found the right surgeon, and was operated on in January, and it was successful, so I'm back!
Ironically, I've still been able to shoot during this time (WOW) because I could/can do that with straight arms. The only problem is that I had lost strength because of the nerve impingement. However, that is coming back quickly with persistent exercise. I'm stubborn, and still continued to rack my Khar when shooting, maybe I was being bad, oh well.
I was so very sad to read about Muggsy and TMan, They were GOOD people!!
I pray for our Service men and women, but I have special prayers for the ones with which I have a connection, like your son.

Hey Joe, I said where you goin' with that gun in your hand, oh

You know I caught her messin' 'round with another man
I'm goin' down to shoot my old lady
You know I caught her messin' 'round with another man
And that ain't too cool
Huh, hey Joe, I heard you shot your mamma down
You shot her down now
Hey Joe, I heard you shot your lady down
You shot her down in the ground, yeah

You know I caught her messin' round, messin' round town
Yes I did, I shot her

And I gave her the gun
And I shot her

Don't know if this is the guy people say you look like but the pic made me think of Wilford Brimley

That's exactly who the artist and 4 others thought I looked like.
Always liked that guy but I never did note a resemblance myself but guess it must be so.
I especially liked Wilford in CrossFire Trail with Tom Selleck. Good stuff.
