U.S. Olympic Pole Vaulter STOPS in Mid-Run When He Heard THIS on the Speakers

This year, Team USA’s pole vaulting team boasts a star in Sam Kendricks — not only is he a medal-winning pole vaulter, but he’s a second lieutenant in the Army Reserve, according to Young Conservatives (http://www.youngcons.com/u-s-olympian-goes-viral-for-aborting-pole-vault-attempt-when-national-anthem-begins/).
On Friday, the star ran down the track, aiming for a massive leap over the slim bar hanging above. However, in Kendricks’ heightened admiration for his country, he immediately dropped the pole and stood firmly at attention for the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner” elsewhere in the stadium.
It’s not only incredible to be represented by the best athletes in the world, but by true Americans who love this land.

The Mississippi local took home a bronze medal — the first pole-vaulting first medal in 12 years for Team USA (http://conservativetribune.com/piers-morgan-insults-olympic/). Here’s what Kendricks’ said about the Olympics:

“They say back home, and jokingly in track circles, that if you win a medal it will change your life. I think your life is changed on the way to that medal, honestly. With all the journeys and sacrifices that you make, all the training that you do, and the people you leave at home to watch. That is what is really the value of the (medal).
“I’m glad I have something tangible to bring home and show for it. I know that everybody in Oxford will love to see it. But the journey, like my coach says, is the goal. Not necessarily the medals. And it’s very fun to come and compete, but not necessarily the end of all things.”
It’s always great to see people respecting the flag no matter what. So many men and women paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom, allowing us to abide within the greatest country on earth (http://conservativetribune.com/usain-bolt-teaches-epic-lesson/) — and they should be honored for it.
