My next door neighbor has an older Remington 1100 that is in very good condition and would like to sell it as he does not hunt and is frankly not comfortable with firearms. (He is OK with bb gun/pellet guns). Anybody have an idea of what it might be worth? Seeing how dove season is coming up here in Texas, now would be a good time to sell it.

I'll try to get some more information later today.

Thanks in advance.

They made those in MANY configurations, and that counts.

Gloss finish, glossy stock models were most expensive. They made fancy wood (rare), more expensive yet. They made brish finish metal, glossy wood - common. They made brush finish with dull wood or plastic - also common, less expensive. They made full matte finish with really dull hardwood (not walnut) or plastic. They made em with Remchoke or plain barrels, round and ribbed.

So, glosse metal, gloss fancy walnut wood, Remchoke and ribbed is top dog.
Full matte round barrel with plastic, no rib.... not top dog.
Lots in between.

They been goin from $250 to $450 here abouts, and I saw one with factory AAA wood that was.... well... two grand used in cherry shape.

Most of the ones I've seen around here have black receivers and blued, fixed choke barrels and decent wood (but nothing special). Prices around $300-$400. Rem chokes would be the ticket but I haven't seen one. 1100 is a good gun if you find the right one. Many swear by 'em.

The only part that ever goes on those is the o-rings, and they're used on the 11-87 as well - PLENTY available, from Remington and from 3rd party suppliers too. And cheep!

Suggest looking on some of the gun auction sites e.g. Gunbroker.com to get a feel for prices. Anything else we can provide without more information would only be best "guesses".
