I have learned much her w/o posting but now need to ask following:

1. Whenever I dry fire my CM9, the slide drops very slightly at both the muzzle and back end. No matter how I hold it and I resolved that it is not me producing this action. (At first I thot it might be the long trigger pull causing me to drop the muzzle, but that is not the case. (This pistol always did this and I thot it would 'break in' but after 500 rounds it hasn't changed)

2 When the pistol is cocked, (regardless of how far I retract slide to cock it) (a) rear of slide is 'elevated' to where I can slightly 'rock' slide when held at extreme rear and turned side-to-side and b) also a slight up and down motion of rear of slide when cocked and held and moved at extreme rear of slide. i.e. the slide appears to sit higher at rear half than at front half when cocked compared to when pistol is uncocked.

(After abo9ut 500 rounds the pistol feeds both by hand and slide stop release and functions w/o any problems so I am wondering if the above concerns are merited or if something in the internals pressing upward against the rear under part of slide when cocked is normal?)

PS - Last weekend I cleaned the pistol and a day later found this little item on my bench : PLEASE tell me it's not from my Kahr as it is my most 'often carried' pistol !!! :)

4. Many thanks for listening:amflag:

That up/down movement used to bother me, but it's normal and doesn't mean anything.

The part that found its freedom, can't help you with that. Never seen it before.

The gremlins put it there to confuse you! Looks like no Kahr part I've seen.

The down motion is normal from what I've read. If you chamber a dummy round it won't do that.

That is not a part. Its a key. Not only is it a key, but its the super double secret emergency key to the Colonels liquier safe!

Thanks to everyone for answering, now I feel comfortable.

Pistol has noticeably smoothed out after about 400 rounds so I really fell confident in it.
( Interesting opinions re: the "key." :amflag: )
