I recently bought a Lady Savage in 308 and now I need a scope for it so I would appreciate some suggestions.
I plan on hunting deer and wild hogs with the gun, and I dream of going on an Elk hunt, but that probably won't happen.
Thanks

I was in your position a couple of years ago. I looked at the mid-priced scopes, and ended up with a Zeiss Terra 3x9. Extremely clear glass, and I believe it to be a good value.

Mine is mounted on a Savage 11 in 300 WSM.

I'm a lousy guy to ask about scopes since I refuse to pay large for glass but to those who will the theory is you get what you pay for.

Zeiss is good, Leupold is a sure thing, guaranteed for life. The guys at work are speaking highly of Vortec.

The Deputy Chief is getting a Vortec on his 300 Winchester at the recommendation of our sniper.

A million options out there these days.

As has been mentioned, you get what you pay for when shopping for glass. I've got Burris, Zeiss, Leupold, Vortex a Swarovski topping rifles at the moment, aside from a couple of .22 low end scopes. Truth be told, I can't really tell the difference between the first three, though they were all in the same price range of around $300 to $400. The Vortex s a bit better though at a little higher with the Swarovski the best at more money.

However, I would look seriously give a hard look at Vortex. Great prices, great glass and best warranty out there. Their entry level, IMHO, is equal to others' mid level glass, mid level equal to upper.

Hard to beat Swarovski, though Leica is pretty dang close.

Thanks, for the information!! Now I'll save my pennies and continue my research with more direction.
